Obama Makes it Easier for China to Get Missile Technology

Here we go again.
Remember when the last Marxist to occupy the White House, Bill Clinton, gave important defense technology to the communist Chinese–technology that is likely to be used against us someday?
Well, our latest Marxist to work in the Oval Office is doing the same.
From the Washington Time:
President Obama recently shifted authority for approving sales to China of missile and space technology from the White House to the Commerce Department — a move critics say will loosen export controls and potentially benefit Chinese missile development.
The president issued a little-noticed “presidential determination” Sept. 29 that delegated authority for determining whether missile and space exports should be approved for China to Commerce Secretary Gary Locke.
With leaders like this, who needs enemies?
The Clinton, er, Obama Administration says oh, it will definitely keep a sharp eye on sensitive technology exports to China (like Bill Clinton did?), but Obama’s change alters an important provision of the 1999 Defense Authorization Act–an act which was passed in the wake of Clinton’s unpunished treason involving Loral. That provision requires the that the president notify congress if any potentially dangerous technology might be transferred to China.
Not that the batch of scoundrils in congress make the best watchdog of national security, either.
From the Washington Times, we see where the priorities of these liberals lie:
Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.
Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an educational institute named after the late Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat.
While earmarks are hardly new in Washington, “in 30 years on Capitol Hill, I never saw Congress mangle the defense budget as badly as this year,” said Winslow Wheeler, a former Senate staffer who worked on defense funding and oversight for both Republicans and Democrats. He is now a senior fellow at the Center for Defense Information, an independent research organization.
Sen. Tom Coburn, Oklahoma Republican, called the transfer of funds from Pentagon operations and maintenance “a disgrace.”
“The Senate is putting favorable headlines back home above our men and women fighting on the front lines,” he said in a statement.
You know, I wonder if there is anybody in charge in Washington D.C. who gives a flying rip about the country or anything else other than themselves right now–Democrat or Republican!
We’ve known for decades that most in the national-level Democrat Party don’t give a rip about the safety and security of our country. But there are plenty of Republicans up there who don’t care much either, and while there should be at least some Republicans who relentlessly hammer away at issues like this every time they come in contact with the press.
And I know the “mainstream” media does their best to make sure information like this never gets out to a broad cross-section of the public, but there are still enough avenues through the honest press that we should be hearing more about this kind of treachery.
Our leaders are insane. What kind of sane person hands their enemy a knife…and sharpens it for them?
