Washington D.C. Tea Party Express a HUGE Success!

From what I can tell through internet news sources, it looks like the “mainstream” media is continuing to do it’s best to ignore the Tea Party movement and patriotic Americans who aren’t about to watch their country slide into a socialist abyss.

Nevertheless, word, pictures and video are making their way out of socialist-held territory in Washington of a huge crowd there today for the culmination of the Tea Party Express.

Right Pundits mentions an estimate of 1.5 million. Michelle Malkin said at 12:34 pm Eastern that capitol police estimate 1.2 million, and ABC reportedly announced 2 million in attendance, but I haven’t seen an original source report confirming this. Even if it was only the 20,000-30,000 organizers were predicting, that would still be fantastic, but it appears to be much bigger than that.

Even the ultra-Leftist rag the New York Times admitted

the magnitude of the rally took the authorities by surprise, with throngs of people streaming from the White House to Capitol Hill for more than three hours.

And

A sea of protesters filled the west lawn of the Capitol and spilled onto the National Mall on Saturday in the largest rally against President Obama since he took office

And it isn’t just President Obama they’re rallying against: it’s every socialist in Washington who pushes socialism and tries to wipe their noses with the U.S. Constitution.

Some of my fellow South Dakota patriots have some great coverage. Constant Conservative features a video compilation of some great footage from D.C. today. Some of my favorite signs and items: “Socialism Sucks; always has, always will,” “Dependency is a form of slavery,” “Socialism is not freedom,” and a black hears with “ObamaCare” on the side.

You know, I could definitely tell there were AMERICANS there today, not European socialist sheep serfs!

Meanwhile, Constitutionally Speaking has some awesome pics from Washington D.C. She has a great illustration in pictures-not-words that shows the difference between conservative patriots and government trough feeders. It reveals a truth on so many levels!

She also has a video from a webcam showing time-lapse footage of the crowd moving down what I think is Pennsylvania Avenue (not the section in front of the White House, but the section that runs down to the U.S. Capitol. What a huge group of patriots moving through there!

And don’t miss the picture of the massive crowd on the grass in the Mall, with the crowd extending down across a couple of streets, wrapping around the Washington Memorial and another clump on the lower right extending down toward the World War II memorial. **UPDATE: It came to light on 9/14 that whoever originated this photo somewhere out there on the internet grabbed it from a 1997 Promise Keepers event, so it is NOT a pic of Saturday’s event.  I haven’t seen an aerial photo similar to this from Saturday’s events, but from the many I HAVE seen of various angles and localities near the capitol and along the mall lead me to believe 912 was not unlike this 1997 photo.  Having walked the grounds of the Capitol Building and all along the National Mall from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol, I have a good feel for the area, and even the ground shots indicate the area was PACKED.  The best estimates –by capital police–of around 1.2 million are probably accurate.

Someone at Free Republic posted a lot of pictures from the event.  This one to the right is one of my favorites.  BORG: Barack Obama Redistribution Government. Resistance is American.

Below is a video put together by a father and son who attended today’s rally.  The son says in the video that he’s heard CNN is actually there, and actually reporting stuff.  Amazing!

(Speaking of CNN, see the second video below of the Tea Party folks shouting over a CNN reporter “Tell the truth!”  After the pathetic behavior of CNN (acting more like MoveOn.org fantatics) at the first national Tea Party, it’s no wonder they were telling the CNN babe to tell the truth.)

In the video I saw Tim Phillips of Americans for Prosperity who was in Rapid City not quite two weeks ago for the Hot Air Tour, along with a lot of other patriots.  This video contains a lot of good clips of the crowd in various areas on and around Pennsylvania Avenue.

One sign said something to the effect that trusting the government with health care is like trusting Michael Vick with your dog.  No kidding!

I’m going to Washington D.C. next week to cover the Value’s Voter Summit.  As good as that’s going to be, I almost wish I had rather been there today for this historic event. So many patriots in one place in our nation’s capital–how awesome that must have been to be there!

I wish I could have been there for a truly American Show of Concern for our future.
Is it true that everyone cleaned-up after themselves and left NO Trash behind??
    I Pray it is True.

Bob, I see the update on that aerial photograph; what a shame.

It's mind boggling how desperate the media is to cover up events like this. This march on Washington is gigantic news! I guarantee the feds and the military have thousands of images of that event. Even though it's a "no fly" zone, the satellites can get all the detailed "up-close" shots they want. They know how many people were there; they're just not saying.

When you see how powerfully the left controls public perception via the media, it can be discouraging. But, we all know we're out here and waiting for 2010, even if the main-strain media refuses to acknowledge us.

Hi Gina, AXJ knows actually how many millions showed up. Yes it was a great victory for the American People and we invite you to be part of the celebration. AXJ will publish the truth as soon as all documents are authenticated. Stay tuned.
  • What a great day for America! The people that pay the bills and make this country work have finally stood up to demand that our leaders actually respect the Constitution.

Amazingly, the Left still believes that this is a manufactured movement or "Astroturf." That delusion will not stand and they'll find that out come 2010.

I flipped to CNN for a few minutes last night only to find a discussion about how the Tea Party movement is motivated by an undercurrent of rascism. They just cannot understand or believe that Americans actually want a government restrained by the Constitution and answerable to tax payers.

Now we have to bring this determination home and keep up the pressure on all "public servants" from school boards to county commissioners to mayors and governors, congress and the White House.

Let me remind readers again about DearPolitician.org, a web site for "We the People" that allows you to send a personalized fax to you representatives quickly and easily and it's free. I wrote about this service a few weeks ago and used it again last evening to inform my representatives that the Tea Party in Washington is only the beginning and they had better start listening if they hope to keep their jobs. (No, I have no financial interest in this web site; I just appreciate the service and think Americans can use it to make their voices heard above the din of lobbyists and special interest groups. We the People need to have a voice.)
  • So you basically want us to give the same politicians that are living the good life on our tax dollars a heads up of what the American People are really thinking and doing? We want to know the truth and apparently the only organization posting it is AXJ.

    Dr. Theo,

Aren't we sick to death of the left's worn-out and false accusation against us of "racism?!" These people forget that we have opposed these socialist policies long before this half-white man was thrust into the presidency. Obamination is only one part of this tremendously wicked administration, and I don't know that he's even as dangerous as ones like "Manimal" Sunstein. Their "racist" label of us is a tool they use to keep the dumber ones on the left in a perpetual misperception mode that makes them less likely to join "our side."

Regardless, this is a wonderful weekend for America. Bob, thanks for this great compilation article (My favorite is the aerial photograph posted on Constitutionally Speaking; it's breathtaking). I think Dr. Theo and I both pointed out yesterday how really fine it would've been if EVERY American who believes in our founding principles and the greatness of our country could've been there, too. I wonder if that city could hold a hundred-fifty million or so people...

    Gina Miller
  • Yes, Gina, racism is a tired and meaningless accusation that the left always keeps in reserve for those times when rational Americans question their plans and motives. Rush and others warned us well before last November that electing Obama to the presidency would guarantee that any criticism of him or his policies would be claimed by the left to be proof of racism.

Well, I'm not playing that game. Obama, Michelle, Rev. Wright, Van Jones, Skippy Gates, and virtually all the people Obama has associated himself with over the years are true racists and my opposition to them is based on that fact as well as ideology.

How can conservatives be accused over and over of racism when we embrace and almost idolize folks like Drs. Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell, Ward Connerly, Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas, Shelby Steele, Larry Elder, Stanley Crouch and on and on.

This is not about skin color and they know it. They deny that conservative blacks qualify as "authentic" and so they don't count. Why are they not authentic? Because they do not follow the liberal/socialist line. You see, they realize that this is about ideology but it is so much more effective to label the opposition as racists thus disqualifying them from participating in public debate.

This is crap and I am not bending to such intimidation. Obama is a socialist bent upon destroying America so as to "transform" it into the socialist utopia he has long dreamed of. Americans must stand and fight this tyranny. We mustn't let the opposition marginalize us with ridiculous accusations of racism. We all know who the racists are are we should point it out loudly and frequently.
