Van Jones: Exposed and Condemned by His Own Words

A few months ago I wrote about President Barack Obama’s black red green czar Van Jones.

What we knew of this radical avowed-communist then was plenty disturbing, especially for someone involved in running our country. But we didn’t know nearly everything about this man who is so hostile to the American way of life.

To give you a taste of what’s come to light in the last week, Fox News has some raw quotes from Van Jones:

Berkely, Calif., Feb. 26, 2009: Jones took audience questions in Berkeley, Calif., during a lecture on energy issues.

Van Jones: “Well, the answer to that is: they’re a***oles.”

Female questioner: I was afraid that that was the answer.

Van Jones: That’s a technical, political science term. And — Barack O — Barack Obama’s not an asshole. So — now, I will say this: I can be an a***ole. And some of us who are not Barack Hussein Obama are going to have to start getting a little bit uppity. How’s that capitalism working for ya?

Female questioner: What?

Van Jones: How’s that capitalism working for ya this year?

Female questioner: What?

Van Jones: How is that capitalism working for ya this year?

In case you wondered, yes, Jones is a self-proclaimed communist, so it’s no wonder he holds such loathing for the economic system which helped make America a bastion of prosperity.

And in case you might think these comments were from some long-forgotten age in the past, keep in mind that he made these statements just a month before joining the Administration.

Fox also has another quote from Jones regarding not only his loathing for capitalism, but his outline for the step-by-step gradual replacement of capitalism with the Marxism he loves so much:

“Right after Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat if the civil rights leaders had jumped out and said, ‘OK now we want reparations for slavery, we want redistribution of all the wealth, and we want to legalize mixed marriages.’ If we’d come out with a maximum program the very next day, they’d been laughed at. Instead they came out with a very minimum. ‘We just want to integrate these buses.’

“But, inside that minimum demand was a very radical kernel that eventually meant that from 1964 to 1968 complete revolution was on the table for this country. And, I think that this green movement has to pursue those same steps and stages. Right now we say we want to move from suicidal gray capitalism to something eco-capitalism where at least we’re not fast-tracking the destruction of the whole planet. Will that be enough? No, it won’t be enough. We want to go beyond the systems of exploitation and oppression altogether. But, that’s a process and I think that’s what’s great about the movement that is beginning to emerge is that the crisis is so severe in terms of joblessness, violence and now ecological threats that people are willing to be both pragmatic and visionary. So the green economy will start off as a small subset and we are going to push it and push it and push it until it becomes the engine for transforming the whole society.”

His racism shows in accusations that “white polluters” are trying to destroy black people.

Hot Air points our attention to  a 1999 San Francisco Chronicle article which reveals Van Jones is an ardent supporter of convicted cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, the object of a cause célèbre among ultra-liberals, radicals, racists and America-haters everywhere:

Supporters of Mumia Abu-Jamal, a death row inmate convicted for the 1981 shooting death of a Philadelphia police officer, said the protest was called after the Supreme Court on Monday rejected claims that Abu-Jamal, a former radio journalist and Black Panther, did not receive a fair trial.

“We knew there was another event going on, but the timing of the court decision is what dictated when the protest was held,” said Van Jones, a San Francisco civil rights lawyer who helped coordinate the protest march.

Jones said about 15 protesters occupied the rotunda at the Federal Building on Clay Street in an act of civil disobedience with the hope they would be arrested.

Then we see his direct loathing for our country (of which he is now a part of the leadership) in a press release from Jones’ Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM) Marxist group

Through its own reckless, violent and oppressive actions against poor people and people of color, the United States government has fueled frustration, grief and outrage here and around the world.

This was just a couple of months after the 911 terrorist attack that killed nearly 3,000 innocent American civilians.

Jones may have apologized for these statements (after he got caught), but given his long and recent track record making his loathing for America and the American way of life very clear, I think it is more than safe to assume that loathing has not changed.

Just another in a long, long list of America-haters in the Obama administration…including the head.
