Remember when I said yesterday that while it was being reported that the “public option” was dead, we shouldn’t get our hopes up? I said that like vampires or the hockey-masked Jason from Friday the 13th Part XLVIII these socialist schemes continually get resurrected from the dead by America’s enemies?
It didn’t take long.
Today, word is out that the socialists in Washington may try to ram through the “public option” step toward full socialized health care next week.
Brian Darling from the Heritage Foundation describes at Human Events one scenario socialists in congress might use to effect this takeover.
How soon might it happen?
From the Heritage Foundations’s Foundry:
So just how close are we to being inflicted with the Obama/Moore dream of anti-capitalist, competition-free, government-run health care? Closer than many realize. Multiple sources on the Hill have told The Foundry that as early as next week, the Senate could be debating Obamacare. Senate Majority Leader Reid has stated an intention to take the HELP Committee product and merge it with the Senate Finance Committee markup that is expected to be over by this Thursday or Friday. Their plan is to proceed to a House passed non-health care bill to provide a shell of legislation to give Obamacare a ride to the House and then straight to the President’s desk.
How, you might ask, can a major step toward socialized health care be attached to a “non-health care bill”? How can special rights for homosexuals be included in a defense spending bill? Both are done to provide cover for unpopular and unconstitutional measures to get them passed under the radar of the American people.
And regardless of the lies being peddled by President Obama and his fellow socialists, the “public option” is nothing but a thinly veiled Trojan Horse to move us a step closer to the fully socialized health care system they are so zealous to force on America.
The Foundry article cites several socialists including ultra-Left filmmaker Michael Moore who admit this:
If a true public option is enacted—and Obama knows this—it will eventually bring about a single payer system, because the profit-making insurance companies won’t be able to compete with a government run plan and make the profits they want to make.
It’s the same thing conservatives and anyone with half a brain and an ounce of honest have been saying for months.
My fellow Americans, if you haven’t already done so, now is the time to crank up the phone calls and emails to your elected representatives to let them know in (polite, but) no uncertain terms that you won’t stand for this unconstitutional move to take over the health care industry. And if you’ve already called or emailed, now would be a good time to do it again to make sure their memory is clear of who will hold them accountable in 2010 and 2012.
