Dr. Stephen E. Fraser, M.D. read the entire Health Care Reform Bill (H.R. 3200) and wrote a detailed letter of objections to Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana. Dr. Fraser gave a copy of the letter to the other doctors who practiced with him in Indianapolis and central Indiana. Then, he learned that the letter was posted on the internet and has circulated around the world.

From hoola-hoops to “Snuggies” many people have gotten rich on relatively silly, inconsequential ideas; and good for them. Only a couple of months ago Tony Walz awoke at 1:30 in the morning with a truly brilliant idea that will benefit all Americans. Frustrated with the difficulties in communicating with politicians, from locating contact information to dealing with subordinates to the trouble and expense of mailing letters, Tony thought there had to be a better way, and DearPolitician.org is it!

The Washington Post is breathlessly amazed that former Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell–now running for governor–is actually a conservative. What the Post is really worked up about is that both Bob McDonnell and the majority of his fellow Virginias are a bunch of backwoods hicks who bitterly “cling to guns and religion.” Sound familiar?

Dr. Theo goes to work behind enemy lines to meet the “Health Insurance Reform Now” bus and the “Organizing for America” army. He arrived early Monday evening on the campus of Indiana University/Purdue University in Indianapolis, so as to watch the organization in action as they prepared for the arrival of the teeming throngs. He wasn’t disappointed.

Americans for Prosperity’s Hot Air Tour was a hit this morning in Rapid City! Held at Citizens for Liberty President Gordon Howie’s ranch, AFP President Tim Phillips informed Rapid City area attenders about the cap and trade global warming tax and the intrusions on freedom it would bring. Phillips encouraged people to call Senator Tim Johnson and ask him to vote “No” in the bill in the Senate.

Senator John Thune answers a question on health care and illegal immigration at his town hall meeting last week: “We give free health care to illegal aliens. They come across our border illegally; that makes them criminals. Why should we aid and abet criminal activity by giving them free health care?”

There are people in media and the government of this country who are calling us an unruly mob and un-American. Town Hall meetings have a long and proud history in this country of ours. This unruly nature is often just the nature of a people who are passionate about our values. It’s the kind of nature that struck a blow for freedom on King’s Mountain long ago.

America’s public schools were once considered the hope of freedom and democracy. Instead, for the more than 49 million students who are attending elementary and secondary public schools this fall, their time in school will be marked by overreaching zero tolerance policies, heightened security and surveillance and a greater emphasis on conformity and behavior-controlling drugs–all either aimed at or resulting in the destruction of privacy and freedom.

Thousands of residents have been forced into shelters by The Station fire, the largest of California’s multiple fires, which engulfed more than 100,000 acres within a few hours Monday. Evacuation notices have been issued to 10,100 residents, and the Salvation Army has mobilized to help.

As President Obama’s poll numbers plummet and outrage over the proposed government takeover of health care rages on, socialists in congress are beginning to talk more of “co-ops” as a solution to our health care system woes. Word to the wise: don’t be fooled.

Animal rights activists are livid because unwanted male chicks at an egg hatchery were ground up alive at the facility. Yet we frequently employ procedures on live human beings that would seem to be far less humane.

Cass Sunstein is President Obama’s nominee to head an office within the White House’s Office of Management and Budget called the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA). Some of Mr. Sunstein’s views are troubling to say the least. He is on record supporting rights for animals including giving standing to private persons to sue on behalf of animals under existing laws. He has also stated that he believes there should be more regulation in the area of animal rights.

As a conservative and a Christian at the typical bastion of liberalism known as an American college, you can imagine the kind of ignorance that confronts Adams on a daily basis. In his latest, Dr. Adams share some liberal wisdom he has encountered.

A question on cap and trade at Senator John Thune’s town hall meeting last Friday: I have many colleagues in agriculture who are otherwise conservative but have fallen into the mindset that because of carbon credits, etc. cap and trade would bring South Dakota a lot of “free” money. What is your opinion on cap and trade, carbon credits, etc.?

Stating the obvious passes for folk wisdom in remote tribal areas such as the Southside of Chicago and since we now live in the Chicago-on- the-Potomac perhaps we should start to take some of this obvious wisdom into account…including statistics.
