According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), approximately 797,500 children go missing every year. That works out to roughly 2,185 children a day. Many of these young people never find their way home again. Too many become victims of sexual trafficking and prostitution. A 2009 report by Shared Hope International indicates that more than 100,000 children under the age of 18 are currently being trafficked in the United States.

The White House threw President Obama’s black red green czar Van Jones under the bus last night (at midnight over a holiday weekend) for being too transparent about his loathing for the American way of life, but his radical ideas will live on in others in the Administration…and in congress.

No-fault divorce is much more than just divorce; it is a legal tyranny that denies the fundamental right of due process to a defendant. Prior to no-fault divorce, the party seeking divorce (plaintiff) was required, by law, to demonstrate cause on the part of the other party (defendant) prior to dissolving the marriage, dividing the family’s assets, and destroying the two-parent structure essential for children.

The scientific community seems unable to resist the Siren song of “discovery,” even when the future of humanity may well be at stake.

A simple problem is put forth: A common grazing field is available to a community of herders. Everyone brings his or her cows there. Because there is no clear ownership, the only incentive each herder has is to bring all of his cows to graze and consume as much as possible. With everyone doing it, and no one having any incentive to consider the implications of their behavior beyond consuming as much as possible, the final result is obvious. The field is destroyed.

President Obama has announced that on Tuesday, September 8, he plans to televise an address to the public school children of America. But Obama’s extreme overreach goes well beyond political tastelessness. It’s actually a violation of federal law. Federal law specifically forbids Obama, Duncan or any officer from exercising “any direction, supervision, or control over the curriculum, program of instruction, administration, or personnel of any educational institution, school, or school system.” 20 U.S.C. § 3403.

A prominent conservative leader stepped into the ring with liberal radio show host Ed Schultz this week to explain why many religious leaders and lay are against the federal government’s hotly debated plan for health care reform despite the obligation they have to help those in need. “Trying to give it off to the government is an abdication of personal responsibility,” Perkins explained.

Howie had a message for all levels of government, and literally drew a line in the sand to emphasize it.

As Fox News reports “President Obama’s grassroots advocacy group is coming under fire for a supporter who pulled the Sept. 11 attacks into the health care debate. The controversy stems from a notice on the Organizing for America Web site urging reform advocates to use the anniversary of the terror attacks to call on lawmakers to pass health care reform.” The campaign talked about “Right-Wing Domestic Terrorists.”

Fox News reports there were over 10 hours of heated public debate in Alameda, California over the pro-homosexual curriculum the education system wants to force on school children. One man who spoke against this damaging curriculum was a black man who said his child had been on the receiving end of bullying (as many if not most school children have, at some point in their education career), but he pointed out that his daughter had never been shown any ethnically-affirming videos or other materials in the classroom.

Another in a long list of reasons to oppose the government takeover of health care: the creation of a Health Choices Commissioner to think for us like little idiot children and tell us what to do. That’s not America.

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy’s memoirs published this month say he was “haunted” by the night he drove Mary Jo Kopechne off a bridge and left her in the car to drown while he escaped. How do we reconcile this claim of regret with Newsweek’s Ed Klein’s statement that Kennedy love to tell Chappaquiddick jokes and was eager to know if anyone had heard any new ones?

The British Telegraph features an article about patients under Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) wrongly determined to be close to death…and thus prime candidates to be written off by the government health care system. When Americans can look around the world and see the myriad of problems that come with socialized medicine, it’s no wonder so many of them are saying “Not on your life!” to Obamacare.
