Liberals Playing the Race Card from a Losing Hand
Liberals have tried just about every other play in the liberal playbook to get President Barack Obama’s ultra-liberal agenda passed, so now they’re breaking out “old trusty”: the race card.
And they’re pretty desperate with the hopes this will finally silence angry patriotic Americans, because they’ve apparently sent the memo out to all liberals quarters–even rolling out the worst president in American history to parrot the charge: Jimmy Carter.
From CNS News:
“I think it’s based on racism,” Carter said in response to an audience question at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta. “There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.”
Perhaps Mr. Carter (the man who called Barack Obama a “black boy”) has some latent racism floating around inside himself and he’s trying to compensate for it, because every American I know who is outraged at Obama’s march toward socialism couldn’t care less what his skin color is–they are concerned about his un-American plans for America.
Were the black people who howled at President Bush during his State of the Union address “racists”? Were black people who referred to President Bush as a type of Hitler racists? They were certainly deluded and astonishingly ignorant about the nature of their own country, but I don’t believe this indicated they were racists.
Actually, the massive, historic Tea Party in Washington D.C. last weekend must have scared the living daylights out of these socialists.
They’ve used most of the major plays in the liberal playbook in the first eight months of President Obama’s term and there isn’t much left. So when they saw 1 million+ patriotic and angry Americans go to Washington last weekend (protesting is not normally in conservative’s nature), I think it must have been like a hard slap in the face to them. It was unexpected, and it burned.
And now, like addled but angry hysterics, they’re whipping out the race card in unison and playing it with all the bravado they have.
We’ve seen liberals from all quarters (in congress, across the country and in all corners of the “mainstream” media) play off the same set of talking points before, but the swiftness and lockstep of this race-card play is perhaps the most uniform employment of a play that I’ve ever seen.
And with Rep Joe Wilson (R-SC) having recently publicly exposed the lies of President Obama, he is a natural face upon which they hope to brand the race card.
Wilson’s statement in the middle of Obama’s address in congress last week that “You lie!” violated the decorum of the House, and it was rude. But it was not racist, and was a human reaction to hearing the President of the United States attempt to cover his own lies by calling those who exposed him “liars.”
Watch some of the videos below. The desperate play of the “race card” is being parroted and echoed across the gamut of the public arena.
The thing about the race card is, it doesn’t play nearly as well as it used to. For one thing, while there are still too many racists out there (of all colors), racism is at an all-time low in America. And for another, the card has been played so many times it’s dog-eared, worn and barely readable.
The liberals aren’t going to get much mileage (or intimidation) out of this play. The evidence against Obama, not for the color of his skin, but for the color of his politics (Red), is too obvious and too damning.
