Citizens for Liberty President Gordon Howie

From the Americans for Prosperity Hot Air Tour that visited Rapid City a couple of days ago, this video is of Citizens for Liberty President Gordon Howie addressing the crowd after AFP President Tim Phillips spoke (I’m having trouble but still working on that video).

Howie welcomed those gathered to his beautiful ranch and thanked Phillips for holding these events.

Howie said he grew up with a strong dislike for bullies, and “Our government isn’t really the problem; it’s the bullies who are running it right now. We have the greatest government on the face of the earth.  But we have some of the biggest idiots on the face of the earth who are running it right now.”

Howie then stepped in front of the microphone and with the toe of his boot scraped a line in the ground of the pasture.

“That is a line in the sand,” said Howie.  ”And we’re saying to the people that we elected in good faith, believing they would represent us: ‘You’ve crossed that line, and we aren’t going to tolerate you doing things to us when we sent you to office to do things for us.”

Howie said the people were gathered there to send a message to city, county and federal government: “You’ve gone too far.”

He said that while some of the people on the county commission and city council are our friends and neighbors, these bodies had just recently decided to raise real-estate taxes, and asked why no one is calling for cuts in spending instead.
