The latest Rasmussen poll finds support for ObamaCare at a record low:
Just 41% of voters nationwide now favor the health care reform proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s down two points from a week ago and the lowest level of support yet measured.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% are opposed to the plan.
Interestingly, the poll finds that senior citizens (usually a reliable voting block in support of liberal health care options) absolutely hate the idea.
Why would seniors hate the idea of this socialized health care proposal when they have been so reliable in the past to support socialist programs like Medicare and Social Security?
It’s rather simple, actually. While Socialist Security and Medicare benefit them, it has become abundantly apparent that ObamaCare and its many variants would not only rob Medicare to help pay for this monstrosity, it would undoubtedly result in rationing of care for individuals the state deems not worth treating. For those who don’t get it, that means infants and old people–those who do the least to produce resources for the almighty state.
Isn’t it time the socialists in Washington read the writing on the wall and acknowledged that the American people aren’t nearly as stupid as they thought? Isn’t it time they faced up to the fact that the days of “mainstream” media dominance are gone when they could keep us ignorant and in the dark about their schemes?
It may already be too late for these socialists to save their congressional careers in 2010, but if they want to keep alive any hope of keeping their seat next year, they’d better get with the program and abandon their efforts to take over this huge segment of the American economy–and people’s lives.
