Dakota Voice Week in Review, Ending Sept. 12, 2009
These are the best of the best, the most read and most commented at Dakota Voice last week.
If you missed one the first time around, or you just want to read one again, now is your chance!
The Left Pulls Out the Stops to Fight Tea Party Express – The Left is resorting to dirty tactics to slow down the Tea Party Express and the Tea Party in Washington D.C. today. Nancy Pelosi and her minions are trying to set them up for a perception of failure with false attendance projections, and someone called in a bomb threat to an organizer’s office yesterday.
Tea Party Express in Indiana – In stark contrast to the Obamacare rally I reported on last week, today’s Tea Party Express stop in Bloomington was attended by ordinary folks of all stripes motivated by love of God, love of country and a desire to preserve our great principles for ourselves and our posterity. After a brief description of the event I’ll let the photos tell the story of what a wonderful and encouraging turn-out of Americans this was.
Washington D.C. Tea Party Express a HUGE Success! - From what I can tell through internet news sources, it looks like the “mainstream” media is continuing to do it’s best to ignore the Tea Party movement and patriotic Americans who aren’t about to watch their country slide into a socialist abyss. Nevertheless, word, pictures and video are making their way out of socialist-held territory in Washington of a huge crowd there today for the culmination of the Tea Party Express.
President Obama Brazenly Lies to Congress, American People – Tonight President Barack Obama lied on the floor of the House to the American people about his plans for socialized medicine. He was also called out by members of congress from the audience for telling these brazen lies.
Tea Party Express, IN on YouTube – As an entertaining adjunct to my post yesterday about the Tea Party Express stopping in Bloomington, Indiana, Mr. Ellis has taken many of the photos and put together a music video and posted it on YouTube. Set to the music of Brion Butterbaugh’s “It’s Time to Party” the video better captures the passion, excitement and enthusiasm so evident at the event.
Cass Sunstein Supports an Internet ‘Fairness’ Doctrine – Cass Sunstein, President Obama’s nominee to head the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), believes it’s bad if you prefer some information sources over another, or are exposed to a particular view too much. He believes not only in a “Fairness Doctrine” for broadcasting, but for the internet as well.
South Dakotans need to take a look at a four-letter ‘F’ word – Well, if the headline doesn’t bother you, perhaps the four-letter “F” word I am referring to will. Granted, there are a lot of “F” words out there and the one you probably are thinking of isn’t one that I am talking about. Yes, in this day and age we need to start thinking more about fear, or fears. There appears to be many of them that South Dakotas now need to concern ourselves with.
Petition to Congress on Health Care Has Over 1 Million Signatures – A prominent Southern Baptist leader and well-known Christian radio hosts will deliver a massive petition with 1.2 million signatures opposing the current health care bill to Congress Wednesday. Using an ambulance and gurneys, Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, and Salem Radio Network hosts will transport printed copies of the petition to the U.S. Capitol.
Socialized Medicine Leaves Premature Baby to Die – Under the British socialized health care system, a baby was born at 21 weeks 5 days development…and doctors allowed the child to die because the rule book says no care for children born at less than 22 weeks development (even though children have survived younger than this). A human life was thrown away with no effort to save it, all because of 2-days difference according to a rule book. Still eager for socialized medicine, America?
Christianity and American Government - Christian philosophy was vital to the founding of the American republic and the framing of our American governmental institutions. It is also essential to the health, maintenance and survival of our free republic.
