Cap and Trade is a Devastating Blow to the Poor

It is a blessing to see that NAE , World Relief and others are calling on the G20 to address the needs of the poor.
Sadly, part of the agenda of the G20 is directly at odds with the needs of the poor and this agenda is supported by many evangelicals and the President of the NAE. This is the global warming agenda. I realize our evangelical leaders are very busy men, overburdened with many responsibilities and mean well in this. But they are focused on out-dated information.
The source for those who support this agenda is the IPCC summary for policy makers which is not a scientific document but a political one and which has been disputed by many scientists, even among those who served on the IPCC.
Dr. John Christy, a Christian, who served as a lead author on the IPCC, and actually works in this field, said in a debate this last February that “Our ignorance about the climate system is enormous, and policy makers need to know that. This is an extremely complex system, and thinking we can control it is hubris.”
Would it be too much to hope that the President of the NAE and others would carefully read MIT Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology Richard Lindzen’s excellent summary of the problem.
The cap and trade bill which will come up in the Senate next month will have its most devastating effect on the poor. It ought to be opposed by all Christians.
I don’t know if he was a Christian, but Michael Crichton, who died ten months ago, opposed it with a passion and because of his concern for the poor. Please, at least watch the last minute of his presentation here [go to the 6:30 mark on the slide bar]:
The various bailouts have cost us billions. The ‘global warming’ bailout will cost our bankrupt nation trillions and have no benefit on climate, create the greatest transfer of wealth in our life time, and make new billionaires.
