America’s Institutions of Higher Learning: The Idiot Factory

2009-09-23 06.16.19Did you know our public universities are producing idiots?

PajamasTV’s Steven Crowder goes undercover exposing UC Berkeley’s liberal bias and the indoctrination underway in its classrooms. You won’t believe the hilarious and alarming interactions Steven has with the Berkeley students.

You’ll notice that the most popular president on the campus of UC Berkley is Abraham Lincoln (probably the most hard-to-miss president in U.S. history).  Most aren’t sure what political party he belonged to.

(Remember, these are college-educated people at a top-rated university–explains a lot, doesn’t it?)

When it comes to the Great Depression (wow!), you know, “the first one,” there isn’t a wealth of knowledge about its causes at this high-rated institute of higher learning.

There is also a dearth of knowledge about firearms and the Second Amendment.

Here’s one of my favorites: “The Second Amendment was written in a very different time, socially. It was a time when people lived mostly rural lives, and it was also a time after a huge rebellion against an ‘unjust’ government.”  When Crowder asks him about his gesture of quotations around “unjust,” the kid replies, “There were some pressures put on the American people that maybe were unjustified but I also think that those revolutionary people in American history were maybe blowing those issues up a little more.”

There you have it from the young voice of the Left: the United States shouldn’t even be here, because the founders made a mountain out of a molehill. (I wonder if he’s read the Declaration of Independence for himself).

This would actually explain a lot about liberals.  If they look at the abuses of the people by a king thousands of miles away and say “Chill, bruh,” then perhaps it’s no wonder they look at the abuses of our own government and its attacks on freedom and say, “What’s the big deal, dude?”

(Don’t forget to look at some of the ultra-Leftist tshirts on some of these recipients of too much of someone else’s hard-earned money)

Let's see the video of college kids from Harvard or Yale answering these questions!

I have to admit, that when I graduated TAMU in 1980 that I wouldn't have had much more knowledge than most of these of the questions asked. However, I did recover from this malaise as I aged and had the time to study the situation. I would be shocked to see a college student express the same things that I now know to be true. Like Rush said, if you were a true conservative at 19, you have no heart and, if you were still a liberal at 30, you have no brain.

As evidenced by this video, students at schools around the Country basically know *nothing* in their first few years. When they graduate, they generally have a useful level of knowledge within a narrow range. Engineers and business majors tend to know nothing of history. History majors know more about dates and names than causes of events. Law students tend to know the elements of torts, but not the Bill of Rights. (In the vast majority of law schools, the Second Amendment is never even addressed in Constitutional Law courses. Perhaps that is changing with the decision in Heller.)

What you are seeing at Berkeley is not necessarily the result of the university itself, but more likely the selection process that sends a high school grad to that particular school. Put bluntly, who but a whacked-out left-wing socialist would WANT their kid to go to Berkeley? These poor brainwashed kids have been indoctrinated with socialism from the very beginning by their parents. They may later break out of these patterns - but only after being punished by the world for their mistaken beliefs.

Are they idiots? Yes. Many are. The one thing of which there is no shortage in the known universe is human stupidity. Are they children who have not yet had a chance to form their own belief structure? Yes. In many cases they are. Will they ever recover? Some will.

Most are doomed to remain ignorant - willfully ignorant - stupid.

Let someone talk long enough and they will expose themselves. " Most are doomed to remain ignorant - willfully ignorant-stupid ". In order to say this , you would have to have intimate knowledge of ' most ' of these students that graduated in the last 20 to 30 years over many years of their lives. How else could you claim to know they will remain ignorant or as you say - stupid. Thats quite a statement to make and was just wondering where are your facts to back it up. That's a lot of people to keep up with and claim to know how their lives turned out. My hat goes off to you.

I have had the opportunity to work with some collage grads and this video seems to be the norm. There is a big difference between older grads and the young ones, I guess the break in the liberal indoctrination machine allows the older ones to question the "facts" they are taught by professors.

The interviews were interesting and I suspect most of the so called 'top' schools are overrated. Were these the only students he interviewed ? Was it possibly edited or limited to show the results he wanted ? Did he take a representative sample ? Again, it is true that schools such as these have a liberal bias, but this mocking little film was more than likely set up to do just that-mock, than be a fair and representative little documentary.

I think to be a fair and honest film, he should have gone to Liberty University and ask the same questions. Then at least there would be a comparative value involved. I wonder why he didn't ?

I'm glad you put this one up. I laughed out loud yesterday when I first saw it. Steven Crowder is a talented and funny guy, but as funny as this is, it's terribly serious. I've been saying for quite a while now that government-run public schools are "dumbing down" the nation's kids. It's going on all the way down to the kindergarten level, this leftist/socialist indoctrination that is intrinsic in the curriculum. Colleges just put the polish on the "education." English, grammar and spelling, math and science, world and American history are taking a back seat to learning how to feel good about yourself and learning why Heather has two mommies.

Our nation is languishing because of a lack of knowledge, wisdom and morality.
