Rep. Steny Hoyer Encounters Raw Patriotism

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) received a surprise confrontation by astute American citizens dissatisfied with being sold down the socialist river.
In New York state, he made a stop to peddle socialist ideas, but was interrupted in mid-sale’s pitch by Don Jeror who organized a Tea Party back in April.
According to TPMDC, Jeror told Hoyer, “You’re lying to me. Just because I don’t have sophisticated language, I can recognize a liar when I see one.”
Yes, lots of Americans out there who aren’t the most articulate, but they know bull when they smell it or lies when they hear them. And they aren’t sitting quietly for it anymore.
Jeror also said:
Jeror also declared: “Why would you guys try to stuff a health care bill down our throats in three to four weeks, when the President took six months to pick a dog for his kids?!”
I don’t know if we’ve seen Americans this riled up and ready to fight for their liberty since colonial days.
For many decades most Americans have sat quietly at home, watching politicians and bureaucrats ignore the Constitution more and more each year, watching their freedoms melt away, watching the federal government intrude deeper and deeper into their lives and affairs, seeing more and more of their hard-earned tax dollars being wasted by a reckless government, watching the insanity in Washington break new records continually.
Americans have shared their incredulity at these developments among one another, and some have even found themselves in a habit of yelling at their television sets when they watch the news. But for the most part they have said little…until now.
I can’t count the times in recent years I and a few others have tried to alert our fellow Americans to the dangers facing our country from within, the times when we have tried to stir our fellow Americans to involvement, engagement and action against these threats, all to little or no avail.
Americans are for the most part a quiet, live-and-let-live people who just want to be left alone to live their lives under God as they see fit. Most Americans don’t want to get active, get vocal or get involved; they just want to be free.
But, as our forefathers found out, sometimes a government can become so intrusive, so oppressive, so overbearing that sometimes a people have no choice but to take a stand for their God-given freedoms.
It seems that such a time is once again upon us, because where once I saw mostly silence, sullen acquiescence and apathy in the face of assaults on our freedom, I now see patriots all across our country rising up to claim the freedom God gave us.
It’s looking like the socialist usurpers in Washington are in for a rough (or cloistered) August recess. And I thank God for that!
