Even as President Barack Obama seeks to expand government, the Canadians are starting to acknowledge this folly in their own system.

The highly “successful” government program known as “Cash for Clunkers” has reimbursed only 2% of claims. And we’re supposed to trust these people with our health care system?

Just 24 hours ago, a number of liberals were talking of how socialized medicine was “just one aspect” of health care “reform.” Despite hopes that they might be ready to throw in the towel, they are back today saying they “misspoke” and that the media took them out of context. We must never let down our guard against these socialists.

Congress may or may not pass a socialized health care bill. Either way, they have only begun the re-making of America. Their agenda includes Cap-N-Trade, mandatory pre-K, paid volunteerism, the Fairness Doctrine by any other name, and of course the Key.

The White House and Congress are beginning to say things that may indicate they are close to admitting defeat in their attempt to socialize health care. If this is true, the American people have scored a victory for having taken a strong, vocal stand in recent months. But the war to save our republic is far from over.

I was thrilled when “Organizing for America” was able to assist me in scheduling a meeting at Sen. Evan Bayh’s (D-IN) Indianapolis office to discuss health care reform. The meeting however did not quite go as expected. It seems Organizing for America is not very organized and Bayh’s staff less than accomodating. But all was not lost as I ran into some OFA volunteers and paid an unannounced vist to my other senator’s office where things went much differently. If my experience is any indication Obama’s health care reform plans are DOA.

A new poll finds a majority of the American people are awake and have their thinking caps on: they’d rather do nothing than see the socialist takeover of health care the Democrats have planned for America.

It’s sad when an American president has to resort to scripted dog and pony shows in order to get people to believe that other people enjoy losing their freedom and watching their country go astray. Yet that is what we are seeing in the liberal fiction being spun in the public square.

Even though proponents of the government health care bill claimed there was nothing wrong with the “end of life” counseling section of the measure, the Senate Finance Committee voted yesterday to remove this provision from the Senate version. It remains in the House version, and could be reinserted in a reconciliation committee if the measure passes the House and Senate.

Can someone say something that is absolutely true…while giving an impression that is absolutely false? Some politicians are very adept at this “skill” and we see it employed daily when we are told by our elected representatives that the proposed socialized health care plan doesn’t provide taxpayer funded abortion.

The story now is that Rep. Herseth Sandlin had contacted the Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Group Political Awareness Subcommittee wanting to speak to them. They normally make such opportunities open to the public, so they apparently assumed this occasion would be no different. What was misunderstood, however, is that Herseth Sandlin seems to have always wanted this event to be ONLY for the Young Professionals Group.

A new study predicts the cap and trade global warming tax bill passed by the House and now before the Senate could cost 2 million jobs. We cannot afford such a measure which would only lower global temps by 9/100ths of one degree over 40 years, especially when the best evidence strongly indicates global warming is a natural, cyclic phenomenon.

UPI reports still another study, this one from UCLA, which finds homosexual behavior carries with it elevated health risks. The study found homosexuals were more than twice as likely to seek medical care than heterosexuals.

The President of Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, was invited to the White House recently for a special meeting regarding government health care. Socialists in Washington have been trying to get Americans to believe abortion won’t be included in health care reform on the taxpayer’s dime, but this and other revelations show such claims to be false.

The Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Professionals Group Political Awareness Subcommittee recently announced that Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin would be speaking at a luncheon, and that tickets were available for both members and non-members. This afternoon, however, it was announced that Rep. Herseth had requested the luncheon be limited to members only.

Leftist politicians and “mainstream” media personnel have demonized Americans for speaking out in favor of the Constitution and freedom at heath care town halls. But the radical MoveOn.org group is mobilizing to defend socialism at these meetings, so you can expect dissent to suddenly become more respectable again.

President Obama and other advocates of the government takeover of health care claim abortion is not covered in their health care plan. But a congresswoman from California has let the cat out of the bag and admitted that abortion WILL be covered by the taxpayers. The Capps Amendment to HR 3200 specifically authorizes getting around the Hyde Amendment and requires abortion coverage across the country.
