Chris Matthews MSNBC’s “Hardball” made the claim two weeks ago that he didn’t know of any senior citizens who’s had a complaint about Medicare. No wonder: he refuses to talk to a Medicare expert who could point him to a host of Medicare problems. Ignorance is bliss.

Many people are beginning to feel they got fooled when they voted for change. The Who once wailed, “We won’t get fooled again!” and we all know, “Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice …..”

Should we expect American socialized medicine to work simply because “it’s different” than British or Canadian government health care systems? Or is it really just a distinction without a difference? Just another dog with different spots that still doesn’t hunt.

Washington state resident and Marine David Hedrick takes his oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic” seriously, and wants to know why some congressmen couldn’t seem to care less about their oath?

When members of Congress returned home this month for the August recess, they probably were not expecting that they were walking straight into a political buzz saw. In the least, they have sought to minimize its impact—which has been nothing short of a game-changer in the debate over ObamaCare. Call it the Town Hall Turnaround.

The first question from the public at the Citizens for Liberty Recess Rally on Saturday: Elected representatives have their own special health care plan. If this health care plan is made into law, will you support a law requiring all elected representatives to live with and under the same restrictions and rules as the rest of the poeple in the U.S. If not, why would you even consider the plan for the rest of us?

Our nation’s veterans have sacrificed in service to our country, and we owe them a great debt. While many in veterans services are dedicated, the VA medical system, Medicare and other government programs are shining examples of what we should not force on the American people.

In nature the sheep, real sheep, are born as sheep. Sheepdogs are born that way, and so are wolves. They didn’t have a choice. But you are not a critter. As a human being, you can be whatever you want to be. It is a conscious, moral decision.

The alarm that Sarah Palin raised with her report of “death panels” in HR 3200 (and they are there!) seems a little more credible when we consider what the VA has been telling veterans for several years. In a none-too-subtle booklet vets are lead to consider whether “life is worth living” and to make decisions about end-of-life care that could shorten their lives, in some cases quite prematurely. Don’t we owe our veterans better? Don’t Americans deserve better?

Health care “Recess Rallies” will be held in Rapid City and all across America today as patriotic Americans take a stand in defense of their great nation.

The public has a growing demand (couched in terms of “rights,” of course) for things like free health care, free child care, free prescription drugs, free college education, free vocational training, etc. At the same time, we cry louder than ever that we love our personal freedom. An interesting paradox is becoming painfully evident: We want the benefits of the free market without the risks, and the fruits of hard work without the sacrifice.

Women seeking an abortion must be told that the procedure ends a human life, a federal judge ruled Thursday, upholding part of a South Dakota law. U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier said doctors must disclose to pregnant women that “the abortion will terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being.”

A bill that could force religious groups to hire homosexual employees will be debated in Congress when lawmakers return from their summer recess. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is a proposed bill in the U.S. Congress that would make it illegal for employers to make decisions on hiring, firing, promoting or paying an employee based on sexual orientation.

Some in congress want to shut down private health care and even health sharing ministries. Isn’t it crazy that Christian Americans have to lobby to be free in their own country?

President Obama has made a religious appeal to promote his socialist health care agenda. But is his appeal supported by the Bible? Do his fruits support his credibility on this subject?

Headlines are suggesting that Obama & Pals are determined to push through a health care bill regardless of what the majority of the American people want. So it isn’t about the people then? It isn’t about “change” that will restore the peoples’ voice and trust in government? It is, instead, about what Obama & Pals [...]

Socialists in congress and the White House are still trying to get us to believe that government health care isn’t going to result in them being rationed out of health care or pushed (gently or not-so-gently) into euthanasia. But in Oregon, the “death panels” are already impaneled…and ready to dispense death.

Bureaucracy, distance from the process, and lack of financial stake in the process leads to tremendous amounts of fraud in the Medicare system–at taxpayer expense. Should we expand opportunities for this kind of fraud by providing government health care for all Americans?

A trial on the constitutionality of California’s Proposition 8 has been scheduled for Jan. 11, 2010, a federal judge announced on Wednesday. The judge allowed the city of San Francisco to join the case against the state’s constitutional amendment that defines marriage as between a man and a woman. He said the city brings a unique perspective to the case in terms of the financial impact that banning marriage for gay and lesbian couples has on local governments.
