NY Dealers Pull Out of Cash for Clunkers for Govt Delinquency

As I wrote about a couple of days ago, the dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks program known as CARS or Cash for Clunkers is living up to our low expectations of federal government programs.

Now a bunch of New York car dealers are pulling out of the program because only about 2% of the $3,500-$4,500 claims have been processed in this program that has already gone broke in a week’s time.

Hundreds of auto dealers in the New York area have withdrawn from the government’s Cash for Clunkers program, citing delays in getting reimbursed by the government, a dealership group said Wednesday.

The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association, which represents dealerships in the New York metro area, said about half its 425 members have left the program because they cannot afford to offer more rebates. They’re also worried about getting repaid.

Weren’t liberals (while completely ignoring that Cash for Clunkers was based on the fraudulent claim of anthropogenic global warming, and that there is no Constitutional authority for this silly program) chirping recently about (finally) having a government program that was successful?

Looks like it was just another typical government program after all: based on fraudulent philosophies and pathetically administered.

Darn!  And liberals had their hopes so high…

(Meanwhile, they’re eager as ever to have the the same government morons take over the best health care system in the world and make it as “successful” as this and pretty much every other federal government program you can think of)
