Marine Takes Oath Seriously, Why Don’t Congressmen?

Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA)

Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA)

Washington state resident and Marine David Hedrick recently took to task Rep. Brian Baird (D-WA) for pushing nanny-state socialism on the free people of America.

At a town hall meeting Hedrick said

I also heard you say that you are going to let us keep our health insurance. Well thank you. It’s not your right to decide whether or not I keep my current plan or not that is MY decision.

No kidding! This comment strikes at the heart of what these socialists in Washington do not understand: this is a free country, and we are a free people! A free people don’t need a bunch of elitists and bureaucrats to run their lives for them, they don’t want a bunch of elitists and bureaucrats to run their lives for them…and the U.S. Constitution prohibits a bunch of elitists and bureaucrats from running the lives of the American people.

This insightful Marine also provides the congressman with a history lesson:

Now I’ve heard recently in the media you and some other people on the national political stage call us brownshirts

Congressman Baird interrupts, first claiming he did not, but then states that he has apologized for it.

Hedrick continues his history lesson:

OK, thanks for apologizing but let me…I won’t speak to you, I’ll speak to others. But I’ll remind you, a little history lesson, the Nazi’s did not, the Nazi’s were the National Socialist party they were Leftist, they were, they took over the following: finance. They took over the car industry. They took over health care, in that country. And Nancy Pelosi is looking to find a swastika maybe the first place she should look is the sleeve on her own arm.

Indeed. Liberals have long tried to rewrite history by labeling the Nazis and “Right wing” but they were actually close cousins to every other Marxist trash out there.

Hedrick then calls on Baird to keep his oath:

Now what I want to know is, you’ve done a lot of things that violate your constitution, as you know. What I want to know is as a Marine and as a disabled veteran that served this country, I have kept my oath. Do you ever intend to keep yours?

I would like to know that of most senators and congressmen: do they EVER plan to keep their oath to the Constitution. Because frankly you can’t ignore the Constitution, writing and voting for laws that are not authorized by the Constitution under Article 1 Section 8 and the Tenth Amendment…and still claim to be living up to your oath “that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.”

I swore a similar oath several times during my several enlistments during 10 years of military service.  I am no longer legally bound by it since I got out of the service nearly 15 years ago…but in my heart and mind I am still as dedicated to that oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, as I ever was.

If our elected representatives are not willing to take the Constitution seriously, to take their oath seriously, then they need to step down immediately and make way for someone who IS willing.  Anyone unwilling to obey the highest law of the United States is unworthy and undeserving of the responsibility of crafting lesser laws for our nation.

  • In 2006 the attorney of record for all members of Congress (the solicitor general of the United States) acknowledged that as all members of Congress had advocated they had the right to veto the Constitution they had criminally violated their oaths of office. The case was Walker v Members of Congress and can be read at FAQ 9.1, www.foavc.org.

All 50 states have submitted 750 applications for an Article V Convention meaning Congress must call a convention. Congress has refused to do this. The texts of the applications can be read at www.foavc.org.
