“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!” – Samuel Adams

Dr. Obama Offering Euthanasia Under ‘Advance Care Planning’

Marie Jon'
Marie Jon’

President Barack Obama has proposed that every American’s medical records be set before mindless bureaucrats who will determine their fate. The eyes of scrutiny have been set into motion, and the American public had best beware. This is not about healthcare, or a choice to keep your private medical plan or doctor. It is out-and-out trickery and is evil, and the effects could be devastating.

Let us not forget what happened just prior to implementation of the Nazis’ “Final Solution.” They established a policy of direct medical killing. They arranged the means through medical channels whereby their medical decisions were carried out by doctors and their assistants. They called their program euthanasia. The word was mere camouflage; it was the murder of innocent people.

These diabolical murderers of the Nazi era based their justification for direct medical killing on the simple concept that certain people are unworthy of life. They put together protocols by which they carried out their principle. Eventually they would kill impaired children and adults.

Deathcare counseling

DrObamaIf ObamaCare is passed, the same insidious protocols — “Advance Care Planning” — will be set into place to cut the cost of his massive government healthcare program. Our senior citizens will receive mandated appointments for counseling that will determine if they receive minimal medical treatment or are told to go home and die. They will be offered assistance and instructions on how to take their own lives.

Excerpts from the American Thinker: “Useless Eaters,” by John Griffing —

“While Americans worry over government insurance plans, longer waits for treatment, and ‘healthcare rationing,’ a more sinister agenda lurks in the shadows of the healthcare bill now before the House of Representatives. Today’s Medicare recipients could be the first to experience our government’s new solution to America’s ‘useless eaters.’

“Section 1233 of HR 3200, the healthcare reform measure under consideration, mandates ‘Advance Care Planning Consultation.’ Under the proposal, all senior citizens receiving government medical care would be required to undergo these counseling sessions every five years. Further reading of the law reveals that these sessions are nothing more than a not-so-veiled attempt to convince the elderly to forego treatment. HR 3200 calls outright for these compulsory consultations to recommend ‘palliative care and hospice.’ These are typically administered in the place of treatment intended to prolong life, and instead focus on pain relief until death. These are, of course, reasonable and beneficial options for terminally ill patients and their families.

“But this legislation doesn’t stop there. Section 1233 requires ‘an explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice, and benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title.’ But, under the terms of the section, the federal government can compel more frequent end-of-life sessions if it declares a ‘significant change’ in the health of the Medicare recipient, a change that the bill does not confine to fatal illness, but which encompasses broad and abstract conditions described as ‘chronic,’ ‘progressive,’ or ‘life-limiting.’ The bill even empowers physicians to make an ‘actionable medical order’ to ‘limit some or all specified interventions….’ In effect, the government can determine that a ‘life-limiting’ condition demands the withholding of treatment.” Full Article

Mandated death sentence

Conservative talk radio and writers for the new media have been in the forefront, warning their fellow countrymen about the true character and nature of this “historic presidency.” As bad as things appeared when Obama was elected, no one could have possibly foreseen this coming. Advance Care Planning is code words for a mandated medical death sentence.

The Democrat Party is willing to give to a cold and calculating president the power to say who lives and dies. The radicalized party has sold out their countrymen and granted Obama as much latitude to please his unquenchable anger towards America as he sees fit.

Stop the insanity!

Betsy McCaughey, a former Lt. Governor of New York State, and a prominent patient advocate, is an outspoken critic of the health bills being pushed through Congress. She has indicated that what is tucked away in the President’s HealthCare bill must be fully exposed. (View video)

It is time that the men and women in our legislative halls call this man out for who he is. Michael Steele, Chairman of the GOP National Committee, must speak out immediately.

Every Republican in the House and Senate should be on the steps of the White House decrying the president’s insane policies which will — make no mistake — include the act of euthanasia. He must be stopped immediately. This is no longer a question of “politics as usual.”

We the People need to rise up in righteous indignation; otherwise, we will experience a whirlwind of misery. “Start with Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. He has already been appointed to two key positions: health-policy adviser at the Office of Management and Budget and a member of Federal Council on Comparative Effectiveness Research” — New York Post

Birds of a feather…

Contrary to the belief of the mainstream press, it really did matter who Obama palled around with. His dirty political past and associations were a foretaste of things to come. We can never, ever forget that he sat for twenty years alongside Rev. Jeremiah Wright in a Marxist church that is far from biblically-sound. “Liberation” churches preach disrespect, distrust, and bigotry towards others who are not people of color. God’s word is forsaken and ignored: “Love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 12:31). It ought to be no wonder that our president might embrace euthanasia.

Everything Obama has done to our country thus far is absolutely appalling. He is destroying our economy, he continually plays the race card, and now he is trying to wreck the world’s best health care system by replacing it with socialized, rationed medicine.

Investigative reporters recently learned that Michelle Obama was involved in what is termed “patient dumping” at the University of Chicago Medical Center. A number of other people who were involved in this questionable act are also in the Obama administration. (View video)

Demigod

From the very beginning, Obama has been as a demigod — fraudulently usurping as much power as he can. Why anyone is kowtowing to him at this point is a question we should be asking our congressional representatives. In no wise has this well-dressed and well-spoken Chicago street organizer given us a moment of peace since he assumed the Oval Office through clever deception. Enough is enough.

We have reached a critical turning point when we cannot trust the President of the United States to tell us the truth. In too many instances, he has become a double-talking, bald-faced liar.

It’s time to put an end to this socialist regime. It is purposefully destroying our country, and is now literally planning our individual physical demise.

  1. “Our senior citizens will receive mandated appointments for counseling that will determine if they receive minimal medical treatment or are told to go home and die.”

That doesn't even qualify as spin. That's just an out-right lie.

The bill provides compensation for doctors to do end-of-life counseling IF THE PATIENT SO CHOOSES.

I challenge you to find the part of the bill that mandates it.

  2. Remember, the people engineering this anti-American piece of garbage are the same people who did their best to see a disabled woman starved and dehydrated to death a few years ago. They also do their level best to see “inconvenient” children murdered as far as the law can be strained to allow it–in Obama's case, even after birth sometimes.

Section 1233 requires one of these little “why don't you just quit taking up air and die” counseling sessions every five years for senior citizens.

They can try to talk you into just dying and getting out of the way even more frequently than every 5 years “if there is a significant change in the health condition of the individual, including diagnosis of a chronic, progressive, life-limiting disease, a life-threatening or terminal diagnosis or life-threatening injury, or upon admission to a skilled nursing facility, a long-term care facility (as defined by the Secretary), or a hospice program.”

And if they can't talk them into just dying, they'll ration them to death. Obama and his minions have made rationing and long waiting lists clear as well, as we already see everywhere people are stupid enough to try socialized medicine.

  3. I won't get into abortion and Terry Schiavo with you, as they could take all day, but neither is as black and white as you try to make it seem.

Again, nothing about end-of-life services in this bill is mandatory. Please provide the specific text from the bill that states it to be mandatory. It simply gives fuding from Medicare to doctors so seniors with grave or life-threatening diseases can talk with their doctors and be given “an explanation by the practitioner of the continuum of end-of-life services and supports available, including palliative care and hospice, and benefits for such services and supports that are available under this title.”

All these comparisions to the health care system of Canada are mute. A public option in America would be similar to that in France or the Netherlands, not Britain and Canada. And health care is already heavily rationed in the United States for a segment of the population, they're called the uninsured.

  4. Oh, it's plenty black and white, unless you want to try to justify the killing of an innocent, defenseless human being and still feel good about yourself. Then it is indeed a tricky one to pull off.

Nothing in the bill indicates this death-counseling is optional or voluntary. The language indicates it will be done, period. And trying to talk old people into dying and getting out of the way is just pathetic.

I think we all know that this is only a first step on the road to full socialization, as well. Only those inclined toward socialism in the first place might be fooled by the lies and obfuscation being put out now by the government. They have all made it abundantly clear in the past that they will settle for nothing less than than total government control of our health care system.

You are also absolutely incorrect about rationing care for the uninsured. No one is going without necessary medical care right now. We already have socialist plans like Medicaid that take care of them–which is partly why the alleged justification for fully socializing our system is pure bull.

When you get significantly more people on the public dole, however, you will begin to see very real rationing. Costs will skyrocket (actually that word doesn't do justice to how they will increase), and in order to contain at least some of the financial hemorrhaging, Big Brother will slash doctors, resources, facilities, etc., which will amount to a de facto rationing. And when that doesn't work (which it won't on a long-term basis), some people like the old, etc. will be moved by the back of the line (in addition to the fantastically long lines everyone will endure) and some cut off altogether as they are in Britain.

I know you're probably young and don't have a whole lot of experience with human nature, common sense and such, but it doesn't take a whole lot to look around the world and in a couple of history books and face the fact that this socialist crap never, ever works. It just doesn't survive contact with reality.

What's more, it is ILLEGAL. It is 100% unconstitutional and is at odds with every principle of Americanism. It is the antithesis of everything that makes us who we are and everything that has made us the greatest nation in history.

The only ones who could support this abomination are those who are astonishingly ignorant, or who won't have to endure its consequences.

  5. As an arch conservative, I can see why you're against “socialist” programs. But answer these questions for me if you will.

Why do you think the U.S. is the only developed nation without universal health insurance? Why do you think none of the countries with it have switched back to an entirely private system?

Israel has a universal, government run insurance. Are Israelis socialists? Why has “socialism” not destroyed their economy and nation? Since they have had this system since 1948, why have they not switched back?

  6. Ahem. Which nation in the world is most prosperous? Hint: the United States. Which nation in the world is the most powerful? Hint: the United States. Which nation in the world is most free? Hint: the United States.

I'll never understand why liberals feel so guilty about being prosperous, strong and free that they shamelessly pursue the mediocrity of lesser nations around the world.

Until you come to the point where you can enjoy all that America was created to be, and be proud of American values, why don't you just move to to one of these mediocre socialists enclaves while we proud Americans continue undisturbed with the business of being the best and most free? You'd be happier and those of us who enjoy our American heritage would certainly be happier without having our way of life bashed and undermined at every turn.

I really don't know if there's any hope for you, Braden. I doubt I'll even try to help you anymore.

  7. Bob I noticed that you did not give the exact language in the bill that says 'mandated counseling' is part of it as was ask of you. You say the language is there-period. You usually have no problems with exact quotes or statements, so PLEASE give us the language in the bill that says mandated end of life counseling is in the bill. If a patient choses to come in and discuss this issue, then the doctor will be reimbursed, as he/she should. You made the claim, so back it up with fact.

  8. I am not at all inclined to jump through hoops for people who are pretty transparently hostile to the truth and usually refuse to acknowledge it even when their nose is rubbed in it. Besides, people learn and remember better when they do their own homework.

It isn't hard to find at all, and I've pointed it out before in a previous article. I'll give you a hint: Section 1233.

  9. I have read section 1233 and in particular, pages 425 through 430. It clearly does not 'mandate' that 'end of life' discussions and planning must be performed every five years. It clearly says that if it hasnt been done, then that counseling will allow the physician( or RN or PA) to be compensated for their time spent in doing so.

I have always found that my patients are relieved to have this conversation , especially those who have a progressive, eventually terminal disease. Does the wording in the bill bring this sometimes uncomfortable subject to discuss to the forefront ? Does even mentioning this subject cause some to shiver ? Truth is, with todays technology and our ability to prolong life, it needs to be an open and honest discussion.I have it often with my patients

Again, no where in the bill is this type of discussion mandated what-so-ever. And no where ( as the title of this article claims) is euthanasia 'offered'. If you want to draw a conclusion that this is the first step in that direction, you are free to choose that path, but to say the bill mandates these discussions or offers euthanasia is an untruth-plain and simple.

  10. You are obviously very naive or have little experience dealing with the federal government. In federal-ese, if something is not specifically optional, it is considered mandatory.

At best, these “counseling sessions” will become attempts to talk the aged into just dying, getting out of the way, and stop using resources that could be used by younger people who have longer to live. At worse, they'll just begin cutting them off from care when the bean counters reckon they've spent too much on them already as they do in socialist countries.

Obama has already said there will come a time when old people just need to suck it up and “take a pill” instead of getting the medical care they need. Whether that's a pain pill to cope with pain that could be alleviated by “costly” surgery, or a pill from Jack Kevorkian's personal pharmacy, we can only wonder.

Look for a post with more on this subject tomorrow, but for now I'll wrap up by reminding you that the socialist modus operandi is to get the weak, the infirm, and the old out of the way. It's how they always operate, and only a fool would expect them to do any different. They were all rear-ends and elbows to get a disabled woman in Florida starved and dehydrated to death just a few years ago, or have you forgotten?

These Marxist elitists may be fooling a few, but they aren't fooling most of us. Only a fool waits for the rattle snake to bite him before he'll consider it dangerous.

  11. Bob is right about the way this language will be taken by the bureaucrats. I am a lawyer, and I read that language at the beginning of 1233 and it is positively ambiguous about mandate, yet any good bureaucrat worth his or her salt will easily find the mandate inferentially. Here’s one way to do it: The five-year “consultation shall” include the following components, etc., but there “may” be more frequent consultations, depending on conditions, etc. The very presence of such contrastive language will lead the bureaucratic mind inexorably to conclude that the more frequent visits are voluntary but the five year visit is obligatory, especially since it gives them an opportunity to meddle, and that’s their reason for being anyway, so they *will* meddle. Seriously. Try dealing with Illinois' Department of Children and Family Services. If you think this language will be interpreted to favor the liberty interests of the “subject,” you are dangerously naive.

Furthermore, read the family realities into that language. During these consultations, an elder with potentially diminished powers of reason or temperament may find well-intended family members filling in all the blanks for him or her. I've been through this. I've seen first hand what happens in the family. The family member encouraging grandpa to hurry up and die thinks they are being noble and good. They would gladly use the bureaucrat as added force to make it happen. And the bureaucrat will be all too happy to let the family “help” grandpa make up his mind. Check how this system works in the Netherlands. What began as “voluntary” shifted over time to a “Social Expectation” (soft coercion) and has now moved on to “Compulsion” (hard coercion). It is a natural and predictable social dynamic. Make this “counseling” available, while at the same time tightly constraining medical options, and it becomes a multiple choice question with only one answer listed. That's the reality, and that's why we need to fight it here and now, with all we've got. I do not believe we will not get another chance to take this evil legislation down.
