Cash for Clunkers: Your Taxpayer Dollars Up in Smoke

It can be amazing for observant, intelligent, thinking and patriotic Americans to read reports from the “mainstream” media about the idiotic Cash for Clunkers aka Car Allowance Rebate System (CARS) program.

There is never any question of whether it makes any sense.  There is never any question of whether it is right to take the taxpayer’s hard-earned money and give it to someone else and then destroy a perfectly good car.  There is never any question of whether the U.S. Constitution–the highest law of our nation–allows the federal government to waste our money like this.

We can only assume that either our “mainstream” media too drunk on socialist Koolaid to care, or this is simply the shallow thinking that passes itself off as “journalism” today.

Of course, if you’re the kind of person who is always on the lookout for a way to get your fellow Americans to cough up cash to feather your nest, you probably think this Cash for Clunkers fraud is cool.

For the rest of us, though, we see something like the behavior in this video below and we are outraged.  We see a perfectly good vehicle destroyed for no good reason whatsoever.   One of the poor that liberals claim to love so much would do cartwheels to own a vehicle this nice; I wouldn’t mind driving it myself.

But because the socialists in Washington need to make sacrifices to the god of their religion of global warming, and because they haven’t yet come up with enough asinine ways to waste the taxpayer’s money, they come up with “Cash for Clunkers.”  They take a perfectly good vehicle, destroy the engine as you see in the video below, and then crap the rest of the vehicle without even making use of the parts.

Newsbusters points out that when many Americans actually see with their own eyes how insane this program is, they become outraged.

The stupid Obummer Logic that spends BILLIONS on destroying usable cars will take cause the prices for decent used cars to skyrocket by removing hundreds of thousands from the market.

All to please some environmental nutcases who believe The Little People should drive around in tiny little clown cars!

I seriously cannot believe? anyone would be stupid enough to destroy a beautifully built, extremely safe, long-lived late-model car like an S80.

Destroying cars some poor person could be using to get to work. The instigators of this whole program should be up on a? human rights abuse charge, not to mention polluting the environment when destroying the cars

Hell this car should’ve been donated or sold or given to a church or help a needy? family! You people are sick and just as greedy as those who started the recession!!

That was? just STUPID!! Why not dismantle the car – sell it’s parts – and GIVE the money to food banks and battered women shelters or whatever. And I’m sure there HAS TO BE some environmental concerns with all that smoke – does there not? What morons came up with this ideas?

Our lordships in Washington have already wasted $1 billion of your money and my money on this crazy idea, and the House voted Friday to waste $2 billion more.

And to be a bunch of global warming freaks worried about emissions, this seems to be a pretty emission-filled method of saving the planet.   Maybe they just loathe nice cars, SUVs and powerful American vehicles so much that the joy such a sight elicits in their hearts makes it worth the extra pollution.

These idiots in Washington remind me of a bunch of spoiled children who are wrapped up full-tilt in a spree of “Let’s See What All We Can Destroy.”

Senator Jim DeMint says it well in the Politico video below:

“The role of the federal government is not to run the used car business,” South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint said on Fox New Sunday. “I just think this is a great example of the stupidity coming out of Washington right now.”

Not only does the federal government not have a role, it is prohibited from such a role by the U.S. Constitution.

Of course, many in our government and among our citizenry no longer give a flying rip about the Constitution anymore anyway…that is, until they own selfish concerns get stepped on and they think a provision in this otherwise obsolete document might rescue them.

But it doesn’t work that way. It’s either all to be respected, or we might as well take the original copy out of the National Archives in Washington and use it for toilet paper.
