Gates, Obama Racism Accusations Bring Unpleasant Light on Unpleasant Philosophies
Perhaps both Harvard Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and his friend President Barack Obama are wishing they’d both kept their mouths shut instead of raising a racial ruckus a few days ago.
Gates ended up playing the race card (loudly) and getting himself arrested for disorderly conduct when he could have been reasonable and quietly identified himself to policemen responding to a report of a break in at his house.
President Obama ended up embarassing himself and the presidency by saying the police acted “stupidly” and playing the race card without justification.
Now a great number of police officials are rightly calling for President Obama to apologize for wrongly and unfairly disparaging the reputation of arresting office Sgt. James Crowley and the law enforcement profession in general.
The Boston Globe reported this afternoon that
Shortly after the surprise phone call, Sergeant James M. Crowley told a fellow officer that President Obama expressed regret for jumping to conclusions and commenting that Cambridge police had “acted stupidly.”
Steve Killion, president of the Cambridge patrol officers association, praised the president for calling Crowley only a couple of hours after the news conference where union leaders demanded an apology from Obama.
“I’m sure, knowing Sergeant Crowley, it’s mended the fence with him,” said Killion, who had not spoken with Crowley but heard a transcript of the president’s remarks. “It’s gone some way toward mending the fence with the patrol officers, even though I haven’t spoken with any of them yet.”
Killion said the president has admitted he erred by discussing a case without knowing the details.
“He acknowledges he made a mistake,” Killion said. “He wasn’t there. None of us have the facts. He didn’t have the facts. We don’t have the facts….”
It’s good to hear that President Obama was big enough to call Sgt. Crowley and admit he was wrong. However, since President Obama publicly and on television besmirched Sgt Crowley, it would only be appropriate if Obama made the same admission of wrong and regret publicly on television.
However, certain unsightly cats are already out of the bag. Obama’s racial fixation and impetuousness have dug an embarrassing hole for him, and the damage is done.
As people begin to take a closer look at Henry Louis Gates Jr.–a man hardly known to most Americans just a few days ago–some rather unpleasant details about Gates’ ideas and philosophies are beginning to come to light. What’s more, we once again see that an associate President Obama seems to have ties to Marxism, communism and racial radicals.
The WorldNetDaily article points out that Professor Gates is Director of the W. E. B. Du Bois Institute for African and African American Research at Harvard. The article further says Du Bois, the Institute’s namesake, was an “avowed communist” and had been a member of the Socialist Party for a brief time. It says Du Bois traveled to the Soviet Union where he called Soviet communism “the most hopeful vehicle for the world.” Du Bois joined the Communist Party USA in 1961, and a couple of years later the party named its new youth group the W.E.B. DuBois Clubs.
In his job at the WEB Du Bois Institute, Gates brought in Cornel West, and advisor on Louis Farrakhan’s Million Man March, socialist sympathizer Kwame Anthony Appiah, and Democrat Socialists of America sympathizer William Julius Wilson.

Gates himself is a strong supporter of affirmative action and a key member of the reparations movement for the descendants of African slaves. He joined an effort to bring a class action lawsuit for reparations and reportedly has been working privately to urge political and business leaders to keep the issue of slavery at the forefront of social-justice discussions and to support his campaign for reparations.
One of Gates’ major sources of intellectual inspiration is Herbert Aptheker, a seminal scholar of African-American history who was a radical American leftist. Aptheker was for decades a leading theorist of the Communist Party U.S.A. before resigning in 1991.
Why does Barack Obama have so many ties to Marxists, communists and so many people sympathetic to these anti-American ideologies? Why these affiliations, along with so many people involved in or associated with other anti-American behavior?
Why would so many of the American people turn a blind eye to these associations and elect a man to the presidency of the United States who held them?
In a related note, investigators at The People’s Cube have managed to obtain a copy of Professor Gates’ official “race card” employed during his recent arrest. Note that it never expires, and entitles the bearer to some rather handy privileges not enjoyed by most American citizens.
