Sioux Falls, Rapid City Tea Parties Gear Up to Preserve Health Care

sftpThe folks who brought you the Sioux Falls Tax Day Tea Party are planning another Tea Party for July 2 at  W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds, according to the Argus Leader.

Organizers hope to ignite a movement to stop pending health care reform proposed by President Obama’s administration. They say the legislation would lead to a more socialized approach to medicine that will have a negative and irreversible effect on U.S. health care.

“This is a major threat to our health and to the freedom of our country,” said organizer Allen Unruh, a Sioux Falls chiropractor. “And I don’t think it could be reversed if we don’t stop it now.”

Dr. Unruh is absolutely right. Once a social program gets put in place, it is extremely hard to undo it.  This monstrosity and assault on the American way of life must be stopped before it goes any farther.  Socialized medicine is a big mess that leads to exploding health care costs and diminished quality everywhere it’s tried; this debacle should not be forced on the American people.

Citizens for Liberty, the group who brought you the Rapid City Tax Day Tea Party, is also planning to hit this massive expansion of government hard at our Independence Day Tea Party planned for July 4 from 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Memorial Park.

Over 1,500 patriots came out for the event in Rapid City on April 15.  While it’s hard to know what will happen on a national holiday like Independence Day where many people may be traveling or have family plans, we’re hoping for an even bigger crowd than before.  We will have a significant electronic billboard advertising campaign that we didn’t have time for prior to the first event, and will be doing even more to get the word out.

In  addition to informing and educating the public on the tremendous cost and other issues associated with government health care, the Rapid City Independence Day Tea Party will  feature a presentation on the cap-and-trade global warming tax, a tribute to veterans and more. And, of course, there will be plenty of sign-waving along Omaha Street and 5th Street, so be sure to bring your sign.

We are also putting together an informative program booklet for our event including sponsor advertisers.  We already have several and the list is growing; you can use the contact form at www.sdcitizens.com to let Citizens for Liberty know if you’d like to take out one of the very affordable ads.

Rapid City and Sioux Falls will be joining more than 1,200 other communities (and the number is growing) with Tea Parties on or around July 4.

The dangerous state of our nation and the contempt shown for our Constitution reached a tipping point last winter, and a growing number of Americans find they can’t sit still and be quiet anymore.  They see their beloved country slipping into mediocrity…on the way to national disaster, and they feel the call to action.

If you are an American patriot who feels the call to action to help restore your country to its limited government and Constitutional roots, find a Tea Party group near you and get involved!  Your country needs you!
