Today the U.S. House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the cap and trade global warming tax.
If passed into law, this scam will be the biggest tax increase in U.S. history. You hear this all the time (i.e. “Bill X will be the biggest tax increase in history”), but it’s true because the contemptuous “representatives” in Washington are continually working to shaft the American people.
This bill would place extreme restrictions on carbon emissions from American businesses. These restrictions will be felt most acutely in the energy industry where about 60% of our nation’s electricity is generated by coal.
Public utilities commissions around the country are estimating that electricity costs will go up somewhere between 40-48%. President Obama is on record stating that he knows costs of such regulations will be passed on the consumer, but also that his plan would “bankrupt” the coal industry.
Sadly, this entire scheme of legalized theft is based on fallacious “science” that claims human activity is causing the planet to warm up. Despite the fact that overwhelming evidence points toward natural, cyclic climate change, socialists in our government insist on pressing forward with these draconian plans.
- Climate evidence going back thousands of years in Greenland and other places show much warmer periods in our past
- Temperature data tracks with solar activity, NOT human activity
- Warming is occurring on other planets such as Mars and Jupiter(where there are no SUVS, coal power plants or capitalists) are also warming
Now comes word from Watts Up With That? and the Competetive Enterprise Institute that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is suppressing information that shows global temps are cooling, and evidence that points toward natural causes
The report finds that EPA, by adopting the United Nations’ 2007 “Fourth Assessment” report, is relying on outdated research and is ignoring major new developments. Those developments include a continued decline in global temperatures, a new consensus that future hurricanes will not be more frequent or intense, and new findings that water vapor will moderate, rather than exacerbate, temperature.
New data also indicate that ocean cycles are probably the most important single factor in explaining temperature fluctuations, though solar cycles may play a role as well, and that reliable satellite data undercut the likelihood of endangerment from greenhouse gases. All of this demonstrates EPA should independently analyze the science, rather than just adopt the conclusions of outside organizations.
One such email says
…They are significant because they present information critical to the justification (or lack thereof) for the proposed endangerment finding. They are valid because they explain much of the observational data that have been collected which cannot be explained by the IPCC models.
Others simply shut down further discussion of this contrary evidence, stating “The time for such discussion of fundamental issues has passed for this round” and that bringing such information up at this point would only result in “a very negative impact on our office.”
Apparently once the powers that be decide the time for discussion about evidence that blows a hole in their theory has passed, nothing contradictory will be entertained; after all, it might make them look bad. So the American people get treated like serfs to protect the image of a government agency.
We should not allow our economy (and the livelihoods of millions of Americans) to be torpedoed without extremely firm science pointing toward verifiable catastrophic outcomes.
In this case, not only is such scientific information absent, the real evidence (not overblown conjecture) points to the opposite conclusion: that our planet has for thousands of years gone up and down in temperature through natural terrestrial and solar activity, and will undoubtedly continue to do so no matter what we do.
As this video illustrates, even people who are somewhere in the middle (i.e. not full-blown global warming Koolaid drinkers, mainly just acquiescent to what they’ve been fed in the name of “fact” and “science”) often base their opinions on fallacious information.
