President Obama: Promoting Homosexuality More Important than Prayer

In the Obama White House, apparently the National Day of Prayer–in a nation where 90% of the people ascribe to some religion, and more than 80% of them call themselves Christians–is not worthy of any particular recognition or observance by the president.

But when it comes to an immoral, unnatural and unhealthy sexual practice, that is indeed worthy of not only a presidential declaration, but a celebration involving the gathering of 200 prominent homosexuals to the sounds of Abba’s “Dancing Queen” and an accepting speech by the president.

In President Obama’s speech, he likens this sexual behavior to the innate, morally neutral physical characteristic of skin color in implying that homosexuals are somehow made to go to the back of the bus, drink at special water fountains, denied the right to vote, or some other injustice similar to what black Americans suffered in times past.

He also repeats his campaign promise to gut marriage and repeal the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) which right now is the only thing standing between marriage in some states and their being forced to recognize counterfeit “marriages” conducted in other states.

Additionally, he mentions extending benefits to the sexual partners of homosexual government employees–at taxpayer expense.  Did you realize your tax dollars were subsidizing an immoral and unhealthy sexual practice?

In contrasting Obama’s priority for recognition of a National Day of Prayer in a country founded on Christian principles in which more than 80% of Americans call themselves Christian, to the apparent priority he places on attempting to legitimize a dangerous and immoral sexual practice, he speaks volumes to the people he was elected to serve regarding what is truly important to him.

Unfortunately, public health, the moral fiber of our nation, and the deeply held faith of the American people take a back seat to the politically correct accommodation of a favored sexual practice.

The American people are already taking note, and even those who voted for the #1 most liberal senator are starting to realize they got more–far more–than they bargained for.

    Hello America,
We in the UK have just been through 12 years of this type of politics, it has undermined our nation our family structures and our standing within the world.
Our nation is waiting desperately for our next general election so we can revert back to our traditional values.
The comment from Bob Ellis was spot on; it is not the gay community that is being pushed into a corner it is the Christian middle class!
In closing “beware the man with nothing to lose!” when you take a mans faith, country, family and freedoms away then tell him he has to act against his conscience there is no telling what he may do.
We will pray for you over these next four years, you are going to need it!
  • Thank you, Jeff. As much as we need your prayers, we likewise pray for the British people, America's greatest and most loyal friend.

Thanks Bob, they are truly appreciated.

Might I suggest that President Obama has not been reading his Bible and does not acknowledge that there is a Higher Power than himself. President Obama could perhaps start his reading with 1 Corinthians 6:9-11.

Obama makes me vomit with his statement "God bless you!" I don't know what God does he believe in, what Bible does he read, or what Bible did he use to take his oath. I don't think it is the God I believe in, the Jesus I believe in and the Bible I read, because if it were, the God, with whose blessings Obama blesses other, would not only disagree with Obama and his disgusting speech (and also his viewpoints for the same reason) but would call Obama's words despicable.
This President is not only a shame and disgrace by betraying all those Christian voters who voted for him, but is also bringing wrath and punishment on America and making America a mockery in the eyes of the other nations. Woe to Obama.

Interesting article, but Obama did say during his run for the Presidency that he supports civil rights for the gays.

Repeatedly, Obama declared he would repeal DOMA and DADT. Now, the gays want to see his promises fulfilled.

If Obama repeatedly declared his intent to make abortion illegal, would we not be putting pressure on him if he wavered?

Obama won. It's not like he kept his feelings hidden.

While I personally do not support his positions, I'm not sure "our way or the highway" is the position Christians should take. Again, he won while openly stating his positions.

My fear, to be honest, is that we are pushing the gays into a corner. If all that stands between them and "equality" is us; where will we end up?
  • You're absolutely right that Obama was open about his intentions to promote homosexuality and gut marriage. It was plain for anyone who took the time to learn about Candidate Obama.

"My way or the highway" is the appropriate position for a Christian to take if the alternative is immoral and/or dangerous. That isn't the issue.

The issue is that homosexual behavior is unnatural (the natural function of our sex organs declares that), immoral (the doctrine of every major religion in the world considers it immoral because it perverts God's design for human sexuality) and unhealthy (the CDC and other health organization recognize the tremendous health risks of many types associated with homosexual behavior. What's more, marriage is a fundamental human institution upon which everything else in a civilization--starting with family--is based; it cannot be allowed to be counterfeited.

Finally, it isn't homosexuals who are being pushed into a corner. They are attempting to push society into a corner and force society to fully embrace their behavior and accept it as normal, natural and healthy. Homosexual activists have, especially through events of the last year, made it apparent that they will accept nothing less than the total and enthusiastic celebration of their sexual behavior.

Apples and oranges. Homosex is natural to the homosexual. Ask my gay cat who won't mate with his female playpartners. But Gay people are citizens demanding the same rights as the rest of society. Anything else is discriminiation.
  • If the world was all about homosexuals, that might make sense. But existence is about much more than the self-centered view of a particular person. Theft is natural to the thief; child molestation is natural to the child molester. Surely you're not stating that these behaviors are either moral or natural.

In case it eluded you, homosexuals already have the same rights as everyone else. Do you see any homosexuals being forced to sit at the back of the bus, drink at a separate water fountain, attend a different school, or denied the right to vote? What homosexuals do not have the "right" to do is redefine nature, morality, or the fundamental human institution of marriage which can only be between a man and a woman.

I agree, Bob. Then why don't we all go out in public and support Domestic Partnerships / Civil Marriage?

The points made about the "bus" and "water fountain" are stupid. Overt discrimination is not the issue. The issues are legal in their nature; the right for hospital visitation, survivor rights, etc.

Quit focusing on the "Sex". It always makes me wonder what is at the heart of folks that make these types of arguments. Just saying....
  • You only consider those illustrations "stupid" because they totally refute the disingenuous assertion that homosexuals are being unfairly discriminated against. Such comparisons to the very real mistreatment black Americans once went through is an insult to them and their struggle.

Domestic partnerships and "civil marriage" are simply the same attempts to counterfeit marriage, but by using terms the ignorant public may find more palatable.

If homosexuals would quit focusing on sex--unnatural sex, to be specific--this whole issue would go away, wouldn't it? But it's also disingenuous to pretend that sex is not at the heart of the issue, isn't it? Two men who are very good friends but don't have sex aren't homosexuals, are they?
  • Once again, Isaiah ch. 5 is apropos:

20 Woe to those who call evil good
    and good evil,
    who substitute darkness for light
    and light for darkness,
    who substitute bitter for sweet
    and sweet for bitter.

And woe to America that has entrusted our safety and prosperity to a man of such low morals and poor discernment.
  • Edwin Arnold
I agree with you Dr Theo

In Britain Christians are now being harassed by the Police because of allegations of homophobia. Even handing out invitations to Easter services got a couple surrounded by three armed police and two police on horseback. A Christian couple who asked for their church leaflets to be displayed in a library were threatened by police in their own home with prosecution as there was homosexual leaflets on display and Christian leaflets would be seen to be homophobic.

I am naturally bi-sexual, I am naturally prone to being argumentative, I naturally like to get my own back and I am often tempted not to declare all of my earnings for tax purposes.

All of these things I would consider sinful If I were to carry them out - therefore I control myself, have never engaged in homosexuality, walk away from unnecessary arguments, pray for the person I would like to get my own back and record everything I earn to pay tax.

It is a matter of self control - The urge to behave homosexually may be a natural temptation but it is against nature and can be controlled - there is no benefit to secular society, religion or evolution for homosexuality. Its natural path leads to extinction whether by disease or reduced birth rate.

Think on the things that are pure, lovely and of good report and dwell on them at all times and you discover that all temptation can be controlled.
