ACLU Demands Desert Memorial Be Covered by a Bag

mojavecross2This case highlights both the silliness and the vindictiveness of the secularists who want to erase any expression of America’s Christian heritage from the public square.

In 1934 a group of veterans put up a small white cross in the Mojave Desert as a memorial to the soldiers who fought in World War I and gave their lives in defense of our nation.

But the ACLU, ever on the warpath against Christian exercise of the First Amendment, is working diligently to have the cross removed.  The case is headed to the Supreme Court, with oral arguments expected in October.

In fact, in a move that could only be described as the height of silliness, they have demanded that a bag or box be put over the cross until the case is decided.  Apparently they believe anyone who sees the cross will be instantly contaminated by the Christian faith and brutally damaged.

The “separation of church and state” enacted by the First Amendment was intended to prohibit a national church or national religion from being established, not to prohibit public expressions of religious faith.  In fact, the amendment specifically states that the free exercise of religion shall not be prohibited.

In recent years, Americans have started taking a stand against this kind of militant, unconstitutional secularism. What’s more, they are winning with increasing success.  Hopefully the good people trying to protect this historic monument in the Mojave–and the First Amendment–will succeed, too.

Here is another example of the ultra extreme trying to impose there illogical and radical views on the majority of Americans. The ACLU is bordering on becoming a terrorist organization that does far more harm to the country than it does good. We all nedd to contact our congressional representatives and demand that there should be no direct or indirect fund of this vile group.

Does the ACLU really not see how blatantly they're showing their true colors here? I wonder what noble-sounding excuse they've come up with in case they get called on it.
