Liberals Yuck it Up Over Patriotic Passion

This is what liberals typically think of patriotism, love of America, and those of us who do have a passion for our great nation.

Glenn Beck is an emotional guy…which is not a bad thing as long as one allows facts, reason and intellect to guide those emotions (and I believe Beck does). He loves America deeply…and for this he is ridiculed.

I quite frequently get choked up when I think about how much I love America and what an incredible gift God has given the 300 million of us who live here, and the generations for the past several hundreds of years who have been blessed to live here. And nothing stoked the fires of love for my country more than the years I spent overseas.

Liberals tend to think love for America is too pedestrian, too common, that it is an outmoded fanaticism for the unenlightened.

Liberals sometimes love America…after a fashion.  Unfortunately, it is more for the “golden eggs” it lays for them, for the government largess they can squeeze out of the pockets of America’s producers.

Some of us simply love our country for the genius of the system it was founded on, for the ideals it holds and struggles to live up to, for the freedoms and opportunities those ideals provide (that are available nowhere else on earth), for the blood and sweat of generations of patriots before us.

How profoundly sad that they not only don’t share that love for America, they do not even understand it.
