Crowd Footage of Rapid City Tax Day Tea Party

2009-04-16-060033This video clip of the Rapid City Tax Day Tea Party shows some of the crowd footage as the patriot protesters were lined up along Omaha Street and 5th Street in Rapid City.

Multiple counts found over 1,500 patriots came out yesterday to protest the irresponsible spending and contempt for the Constitution being shown by our “leaders” in Washington D.C.

People came out in the cool, cloudy, moist air because they have watched their federal government move in the course of a few short months from reckless behavior to downright dangerous actions.

They have watched deficit spending move from uncomfortable levels to alarming–frankly stunning–levels, with the government spending trillions of dollars…that we don’t have…mostly on things that don’t stimulate the private economy…and going to belligerent communist nations like China to back it.

Patriots have watched their leaders in Washington move from merely shoving the Constitution out of the way, to pushing it off the table and trampling it underfoot.

America-loving citizens have watched their federal government move from over-regulating the free market to taking over huge segments of it.

In other words, these patriotic Americans want the brakes put on before they see their beloved country driven over a cliff.

And yesterday was the start of their getting the attention of the reckless drivers of our nation…

(Stay tuned to Dakota Voice for more video of yesterday’s event as it becomes available)

Yesterday I heard from the news Media about Homeland Security's intelligence report that Veterans could be a threat to America and may be terrorists, that our local law enforcement has been contacted that we who are against abortion could also be a terrorist. As a Korean war veteran I am deeply offended by that and consider it not an intelligence report but a diatribe against those who oppose the policies of the Obama administration. It is a declaration of war against the American people and our constitution. It is a prelude to extreme gun control legislation and hate speech laws targeting Christian churches and others who oppose abortion. I already know that South Dakota Veterans and our Church congregations are not associated with terrorism. I did hear Janet Napolitano say on Fox news channel that if there was one thing she could rewrite is Homeland Security's declaration on our Veterans and also the the catholic church's strong belief on abortion. Well - why can't she rewrite it and apologize to us Veterans and Churches who know abortion is wrong?
