Speaker of the House: Enforcing Immigration Law ‘Un-American’

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi was recently pandering to some illegal aliens at St. Anthony’s Church in San Francisco and told them that enforcing the law and protecting our national borders is “un-American.”

From Fox News:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently told a group of both legal and illegal immigrants and their families that enforcement of existing immigration laws, as currently practiced, is “un-American.”

The speaker, condemning raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, referred to the immigrants she was addressing as “very, very patriotic.”

“Who in this country would not want to change a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families?” Pelosi told a mostly Hispanic gathering at St. Anthony’s Church in San Francisco.

“It must be stopped….What value system is that? I think it’s un-American. I think it’s un-American.”

I think it is clear that Nancy Pelosi’s sympathies are un-American.

I think it is clear that her loyalties are un-American.

I think it is clear that her values are un-American.

American was built on the rule of law and respect for that law. It was also built on a sense of national patriotism that puts the defense and welfare of the country as the highest priority.

This great nation is a composite of immigrants from across the world, and those of us who love this country the deepest can understand why people would want badly to come here.

But they must do so legally.  Invading our country, disrespecting our borders and our laws is NOT welcome and should not be tolerated.

That the Speaker of the House would condone illegal invasion and lawbreaking is pathetic and inexcusable.  The people of her district should immediately take whatever actions are available to them to recall her, impeach her, or do whatever can be done to remove her from office immediately.  Knowing what an ultra-liberal district she comes from, it isn’t likely to happen, but it should.

Condoning and even encouraging lawlessness and invading our sovereign nation renders her completely unfit to serve as a public official of the United States of America.

FYI ... Our U.S. Border patrol is currently holding a gambling pool betting on when the first RPG will be fired within the U.S. ... Believe it or not ... this fact was entered into official congressional record about a week ago during a hearing on the drug cartel vs. Mexican government war!

Do we really want ICE to not secure us ... I want them to do their job and to the best of their ability. Right now, we are backing them up along the Mexican border with our National Guard!!!

Our congress is afraid these drug lords may actually overthrow the Mexican government and it was also stated that their current arms are superior to that of the Mexican military!

You sound angry. I'm sorry if my words made you upset. That isn't what I was hoping to do by engaging in a dialogue. Perhaps another time when you are feeling better? Good night.
  • Yes, people who advocate policies destructive to my country makes make very angry. Whether they do so through ignorance or malevolent intent, I love my country and it makes me very angry when someone attempts to undermine it.

And I will never feel better about that.

That went form discussion to attack rather quickly my friend. That's part of the problem with this debate. You see my skepticism about the viability of a mass deportation or mass expulsion program as anti-American while I see practicality as a fundamentally American. We CAN do anything, but that doesn't mean we should keep doing things that are not working -- with severe negitive consequences like promoting illegality, depressing wages, spending billions on deporting tax-payers, and allowing a black market to prosper in a post 9-11 world.

In a race to see who can eliminate illegal immigration and reduce the population of illegal immigrants the quickest, I argue my policy would win. What is more American can-do than that?

Factor in the very popular new President, the leaders of both houses of congress, the lashing that anti-immigration candidates have taken in last three election cycles, and the tremendous support that legal immigration and legalization maintains in the polls as the best way to achieve control and I would argue my approach is also more likely to win politically, another supremely American quality: following the will of the people and their elected officials.

I mean you no harm or think you are bad. I just think you have become convinced that a policy approach that is harming your country is helping it. America has incorporated new groups of people into the fabric of this country successfully for 400 years on this continent and abandoning that approach has done damage to her. I would like to solve that problem.

Thanks and good night to you and your readers.
  • No, I see your unwillingness to deal with the problem. You'd rather whine and moan that it can't be done, and meanwhile our borders go unprotected and our nations laws are trampled. Someone who is unwilling to put their back into the necessary task of protecting our nation and upholding our nations laws does not deserve to be called a patriot.

America has incorporated millions of immigrants over the course of our history legally. Immigrants are still welcome to come here legally.

Those who are not willing to respect our sovereignty and laws are invaders and are thus most unwelcome. And those who are unwilling to defend our nation and our laws are un-American.

It's really quite simple. But of course, I know you don't like simplicity. It exposes your cowardice and lack of moral center. It is, nevertheless, simple.

Actually what she said is that breaking down a family's door in the middle of the night to daddy or mommy away to deportation detention is un-American. Any politician who thinks we are going to deport most or all of the 12 million people here illegally is not only un-American, they're smoking something! Why would we want 5,000,000 more US citizens to be orphans than we already have?
  • Surely you're too smart to fall for that weak red herring, AndiMedi.

The only reason we can't and don't deport most or all of the millions of illegal aliens within our borders is because we lack the will.

Will we get every single one? Probably not. Could we get most if we tried? Oh, you bet. The United States can accomplish almost anything it sets its collective mind to. Unfortunately, after decades of moral relativism, moral equivalency and defeatist propaganda from the Left, a great deal of the country lacks the moral center which can provide the will to accomplish it.

And we don't need to--and will not--create a bunch of orphans by sending illegal aliens home. We would of course send the children of illegal aliens home with them. If the children were born in the States, they can come back when their parents come back legally, or when they become autonomous adults.

Mass expulsion is a fantasy and like most dillusions it is best abandoned quickly. The rest of us reality-based Americans would appreciate you moving on or moving out of the way.

In the past 12 months, we set a record for reducing the size of the population of people here illegally. At this rate, we are only 58 years from eliminating the undocumented population, provided we can keep up a double-digit unemployment rate until 2067.

Finally, the prospects for any of the parents of US citizen children returning legally is precluded by current law. I thought you said you followed this closely. Our laws make going out and coming back legally impossible for most people, even if their children, once they reach 21, apply for their legal admission and wait the 5 to 20 years it would take for a visa to become available under the current system.
  • I'll say it again, because apparently you're heavily infected with that defeatist attitude I mentioned (or possibly you're one of the ones trying to infect everyone with it).

We reality-based and patriotic Americans really want you pathetic noodle-spined defeatists to get out of the way, stop polluting the national will do do what needs to be done, and get behind the effort to secure our borders and build up respect for our laws.

Those "records" you mention are laughably small in comparison to what we could do if we only put our minds and resources to it. To say that you hammered three nails when before you were hammering one is nothing to crow about.

I thought you had a clue about this issue. If the children of illegal aliens are American citizens, then they will have no problem coming to America when they reach autonomy. If they and their parents are not legal, then they are understandably going to have a tough time ever getting in again. There are and should be consequences to invading our country and breaking our laws.

Try putting your country ahead of mindless emotionalism for a change.

Nancita Pelosi is doing all she can to pander to and enlist illegal aliens as Footsoldiers in her war against
U.S. Citizens and create a one party country. If we are too ignorant to understand that
she is aiding and abetting Mexico's Agenda to create a Spanish speaking Illegal Mexican
Nation within our borders we deserve to lose control of our own country.
Is she a Useful Idiot and Quisling? You decide!

I didn't realize that Pelosi's paycheck was signed by President Calderone. She seems to feel that felons that happen to have children should not have our laws enforced against them. Somebody, please impeach this idiot!
  • Didn't Queen Nancy take an oath of office in which she swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic? What recourse do we have when an elected representative betrays her oath and her responsibilities, yet her constituency cares so little that they continue to elect her?
