Cincinnati Tea Party

2009-03-15-175446Yesterday Cincinnati became one of the latest cities to hold a Tea Party.

According to Right Wing Nut Job, who took several pictures 30-60 minutes before it began, estimates about 4,000 people were there, though official estimates range from 3,500-5,000.

Michelle Malkin also has some photos from the event here.

According to Free Republic, Columbus, Ohio was another such city yesterday.

As patriotic Americans get absolutely fed up with the tremendous waste and mismanagement of their money from our elected so-called representatives in Washington, people are looking for a way to get their discontent to the ears of those running the show in D.C.

And with tax-and-spend-liberals in charge in the nation’s capitol, they know that a simple call, letter or email will fall on deaf and unresponsive ears.

So patriots are taking to the streets and speaking with the power of the joined voice, which speaks much louder than any lone voice.

This is the only avenue patriotic Americans may have left to them to halt the advance of socialism, big-government, greater taxation and oppression.

The power to tax is the power to destroy.  And the freedom-loving producers of America are being destroyed with taxation which–on the surface–promises free blessings for those with less.  In reality, it is a power-hungry ideology with a religious fervor for moving power out of the hands of the people and into the hands of an elite few–the oligarchs of Washington D.C. who fancy themselves smarter than any average American.

The Founders were incensed by taxation far less than the average American producer faces today.  Will we honor the courage of the Founders with silence and cowardice…or will we take a stand for the heritage they bought for us at such a great price?

There are about 115 cities (so far) scheduling Tax Day Tea Parties for April 15, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota is one of them.  Hopefully other South Dakota cities–especially Rapid City–will also join the movement, as I am hearing rumblings of such a thing West River.

Our forefathers who founded this great nation realized that there was a line they could not cross, a point past which they must resign themselves to being mere servants of the powerful…or stand up for their God-given liberties and resist oppression.

Our laziness and lack of vigilance has again forced such a crux upon us.  We are faced with a choice, right here and right now, which will help determine the destiny or demise of our great nation.

To paraphrase the words of a great man thousands of years ago,

Choose for yourselves this day whether you will serve the gods of government, of humanism, of socialism, of Marxism. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Creator who endowed us “with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Who will you choose to serve, with your action or inaction?

You people are all a bunch of sour losers. Having failed to stop a black man from getting elected you are now trying to make the country ungovernable. When will righting Americans ever realize that low taxes are not the solution to everything? The era of anything goes capitalism is over. The government has to have the economy on a short leash. Otherwise America will stagnate while China, Russia and company catch up.
  • Government is looking to keep freedom on a short leash, too. I hope you like enjoy less freedom, Patrick. It comes with the socialist package.

If Obama was a republican and he was bi racial as he is I would have voted for him. No republican tried to keep a black man out of the Presidency. I respect any one who is President but never have up to this stage in my life,54 years of age , have agreed with the democratic stance on more taxes for the working class and increased spending for the ones who don't try to work.
I hope that Obama does a wonderful job, I hope that who ever is in office does a wonderful job.
Can we please quit using the racial card. Voting adults should vote for what the man stands for and not his race. It sounds to me that you voted for race.

Let's see, 3 trillion dollars will be spent on Iraq war, but no complaints. bunch of hipocrites
  • Please, Jerry, get a clue.

Military and national defense are authorized under the Constitution; more than 50% of the current annual budget is social spending that is NOT authorized by the Constitution--as is 80-90% of these bailout and stimulus packages. It's really very simple: if we expect to be a nation of law rather than mob rule, we must abide by the Constitution.

Second, you might want to try reading something half-way reputable instead of ultra-liberal anti-American websites. Even the liberal LA Times says the cost of the war is less than $700 billion--less than the unconstitutional bailout package and less than the unconstitutional stimulus package. That's about an average of 116 billion a year--OUT OF A $3 TRILLION A YEAR BUDGET, or about 4% of the annual budget. Wow, really busting the bank, isn't it?

And again, more than 50% of our budget is being spent outside the authority of the Constitution.

If you want to join patriotic Americans in outrage over irresponsible government, Jerry, you need to get your priorities straight.
