Japanese Researcher: Global Warming Theory like Ancient Astrology

j0440704Now some Japanese scientists are going off the reservation and blaspheming the religion of anthropogenic global warming.

According to Newsmax, one scientist even compared AGW to “ancient astrology.”  Not exactly a ringing endorsement for the elites like Al Gore who fancy themselves the smartest and most “progressive” people in the room.

From the Newsmax article:

Kanya Kusano, Program Director for the Earth Simulator at the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science & Technology, compares computer climate modeling used to support the man-made global warming theory to “ancient astrology.”

He states that the IPCC’s “conclusion that from now on atmospheric temperatures are likely to show a continuous, monotonous increase should be perceived as an unprovable hypothesis.”

Shunichi Akasofu, head of the International Arctic Research Center in Alaska, agrees: “IPCC’s theory that atmospheric temperature has risen since 2000 in correspondence with [carbon dioxide increases] is nothing but a hypothesis.”

Among the points made in the report:

  • CO2 emissions began to increase significantly after 1946 and are still rising. Therefore, according to the IPCC, global atmospheric temperatures should continue to increase. However, temperatures stopped increasing in 2001.
  • The global temperature increase up to today is primarily a recovery from the “Little Ice Age” that earth experienced from 1400 to 1800. This rise peaked in 2000.
  • Global warming and the “halting of the temperature rise are related to solar activity.”

There has long been considerable evidence that the theory of man-made global warming was full of hot air. That herd instinct to not be out of step with the crowd runs deep, however, and peer pressure has likely kept many people from speaking out about how nutty this idea really is.

That didn’t stop 31,000 scientists from putting their name to the Oregon Petition, however, and declaring they didn’t buy into the theory of anthropogenic global warming.

When one turns off their herd-radar and turns on their thinking cap, there’s a lot of information which damns Al Gore’s religion.  From the unreliable weather data,  to the historic natural climate variations going back thousands of years, to the warming occurring on on Mars and Jupiter, to the growing multitude of professionals who just aren’t drinking the Koolaid anymore…it just doesn’t hold up.

That doesn’t stop socialist true-believers like President Barack Obama from pushing inane environmentalist policies that will cost Americans huge amounts of money and cripple our economy, however.

The American people are going to have to stand up and with a loud voice tell our socialist leaders in Washington to KNOCK IT OFF.  That is, unless we want to pay exorbitant electric bills and see our nation become akin to a Third-World country.

OK, OK. I get it. Screaming reporters who abandon the vast majority of sciences based on their political views. You don't like Gore, fine. Don't like Obama, fine. Don't like the IPCC, fine. Just look at ALL the other scientific organizations touting AGW. Find me some scientific organizations that DON'T support the IPCC's conclusions.

97% of active climatologists say humans play a part, 80%+ say humans play a significant role. Do you want to complain about the economy and the president and cherry pick this tiny percentage of scientists who do not agree?? Mad it may affect your pocketbook??

How about publishing the fact that a huge percentage of climatologists say humans play a large role?? Better to ignore them right?? Wouldn't support your view I suppose.

And we're supposed to be convinced by the Oregon Petition?? 31,000 alleged scientists out of millions of mailings?? 31,000 begins to look like a small number especially considering the 40 climatologists who signed.

The problem is that this is no longer a scientific endeavor, it is one of persuasion. Which side can persuade the other that they are right?? And it doesn't matter if they are right or not, so long as everyone believes it.
  • How about the scientific organizations cited in this very report? How about the ones cited in other posts at Dakota Voice? Or don't they count? If we pretend the disagreement doesn't exist, maybe it'll go away, eh?

Besides, even if the majority of the scientific community was making sure they were safely with the herd, would that make it true? If all your friends were jumping off a cliff, would you join them?

Read over the information I provided which should tell any thinking human being that this is a load of horse manure (i.e. the historical data of cyclic climate change going back thousands of years, the data about solar activity, the fact that global warming is occurring on other plants--where are no SUVs, power plants or humans).

This theory is so laughable it's fit only for one of those B- or C-grade movies on the Sci Fi Channel.

To deny AL GORE's claim does not help increase the declining oil reserve, I think. Thanks.
  • No, but ending the pandering to environmental extremism and allowing more oil exploration and drilling would.
  • Global Cooling
I am hardly a scientist. I have but a MS degree in a different discipline. But, I live in Maine where in January, the temperature at Black River dropped to -50F, thereby breaking a record low of -47F in 1927. My common sense tells me that that might be an indicator of cooling, doesn't it Mr. Gore? --R. Ritter

If you really want to ask Al Gore a question I am sure you could. My answer to you is that you need to stop confusing weather with climate and until you understand the difference your common sense will by wrong.
  • Huh?

You and Al Gore need to quit confusing fantasy and a neat sci-fi plot with reality. Anthropogenic global warming doesn't even pass the smell test.
