Homosexual Activists Using Google Maps to Intimidate
Homosexual activists are taking their famed “tolerance” to a whole new level and are using Google Maps to identify and target donors to California’s successful defense of marriage, Proposition 8.
According to WorldNetDaily, a website called Prop 8 Maps combines Google Maps technology with a list of the names, donation amount and location of anyone who donated $100 or more to Prop 8.
The article quotes homosexual activist Ruth Schneider as claiming the website ”should be an invitation to have an open conversation,” but it is clear that by providing the names and locations of these donors, this is an attempt to invite harassment of the donors and intimidate them from future efforts to defend marriage.
leaders of Protect Marriage.com, the group that organized the amendment campaign, said it hasn’t worked exactly like that.
“There has been a systematic effort to intimidate and harass donors to the Prop 8 campaign,” said Ron Prentice, chairman of ProtectMarriage.com, at a time recently when amendment supporters were asking California courts to halt enforcement of state campaign reporting laws mandating the release of such donor information.
“The latest example of this is the publication by our opponents of ‘Google Maps’ showing the home or office location of Yes on 8 contributors.
“The message of this harassment is unmistakable – ’support traditional marriage and we will find you,’” Prentice said.
The lawsuit seeking the protection of the identities of some who donated lesser amounts to the Prop 8 campaign noted organizations such as “Californians Against Hate” now “exist for the primary purpose of identifying and taking action against supporters of Proposition 8.”
The organization cited “numerous examples of threatening and harassing e-mails, phone calls and postcards suffered by supporters of Proposition 8, including death threats.”
The courts ultimately refused to provide the protection.
It has become abundantly apparent that not only do the good people of California have to contend with militant homosexual activists (who have a one-sided definition of “tolerance”), but must wrestle against their own government.
Despite the people having clearly defined marriage in 2000 as between a man and a woman, their court system overturned the will of the people and manufactured a “right” for homosexuals to counterfeit marriage.
Then, after marriage defenders succeeded in getting enough signatures to get a marriage protection amendment on the ballot, their state Attorney General attempted to prejudice the people against by changing the language of the petition to make it seem that marriage defenders were doing something improper and oppressive.
And even after the people spoke loudly in favor of marriage in November, their court system has again entertained efforts to hijack marriage. What’s more, their Attorney General has officially stated that he supports the counterfeiting of marriage.
People of California: hang in there. Millions of us appreciate your efforts and we stand with you. You’re doing the right thing by defending marriage from being counterfeited. It is the most important institution in this or any society.
