Palin Calls for Ethics Inquiry of ‘Troopergate’

Instead of obfuscating, dodging and covering up like you usually see from the Left, Sarah Palin is taking the trooper scandal in Alaska bull by the horns.

The Politico reports Governor Palin has not only invited the inquiry into the firing of her former brother-in-law state trooper Mike Wooten, but has formally requested the Alaska Personnel Board to conduct an ethics inquiry into the matter.

Gov. Palin has provided a 13-page affidavit and statement.

Wooten is alleged to have threatened to kill Palin’s father, disparaged Palin’s daughter, used a Taser on his own son, shot a moose illegally, and drove his patrol car while drinking alcohol.

It’s refreshing to see a politician confront an issue head-on and invite open inquiry. But given her already formidable record of seriousness about government ethics, it isn’t surprising.

Sarah Palin appears ready to bring a lot of good things to the White House that Washington has been in short supply of for decades.
