Special Prayer Asked for American Soldiers

Prayer available online

WASHINGTON, May 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Baghdad Prayer Patrol, an internet-based nationwide prayer group for American troops stationed abroad, has released a special plea for participants in today's National Day of Prayer.

"As Americans come together on May 3 to look to God for the good of our nation," said group founder Wayne Dillard, "we wanted to offer a prayer of protection for the brave men and women of our military serving around the world."

The prayer, based on Psalm 42:1-2, is available on the internet at www.prayercentral.net/troops. It asks God to guard soldiers' lives "as they guard the lives of others."

"We encourage Americans everywhere to print this out and join in unison to pray down a shield of protection over our troops," Dillard added. "It's our hope that this prayer for the troops will be included in church meetings, family devotions, and other National Day of Prayer gatherings."
