THE WORLD HAS GONE MAD
(1/18/2007)
A Theory in Madness
It's easy to see madness in the world around us but not so easy to determine the actual cause factor(s) that created it all. The latter becomes a bit tricky. It also becomes a bit fascinating with a mystery to be solved. How in the world did the world get to this point of being with so few (if any) seeing it coming? How did the madness so easily sneak up and bite us in ever aspect of our lives? Yes, how was it possible for that to happen and who is to blame? I have a theory! A few months ago, a commercial "with our friend Bob" appeared on one of the channels I watch (when I do watch television). I thought the commercial was sick. I thought I was going to barf. Made a private medical and personal matter seem perverted and publicly exploited, rather than an attempt to educate and inform. As perverted as I feel the "our friend Bob" commercials are -- worse are the "Girls Gone Wild" ones. I cannot believe they are allowed to appear on regular cable channels. Channels where one doesn't expect to see such vulgar and pervertedness. But there it appeared and there it has remained. It isn't just the commercials and fictional television shows that fit into the madness spreading out to embrace the world. News. Alleged educational material. Anything and everything can fit into the category of madness on the prowl. Anything and everything including our leadership and those in power and even those who daily take our power away over aspects we once thought were our own to decide. Shock value was once left to fictional television and movie creators. Not no more! Trying to find "new" thought was once pretty easy. Now, it is a challenge, it would seem. To be different -- and supposedly intellectually enlightened -- one has to come up with the weirdest of thought and try to prove it to be factual (at least sounding). Kinda like in class, when one has to take the opposite side of their belief system, and prove that opposite belief to the audience. Prove their debate skills. Prove their persuading skills. Yeah, that is what it is kinda like. Politicians and other people in the influential world, seem to be trying to figure out a position that is not accepted as the norm, and debate it into acceptance just to be out there on the edge and different from their challengers. Live that high school class of debate as though that was meant to be how life is to be handled. Debate the wrong into being the accepted right, just because it can be done and will make for some notice. It's really sad that the (guilty) politicians and other shock factor ones don't realize that retro is good. Prove that bad is always bad and nothing is going to paint it any prettier or righter! Prove that the good things were good in the first place and therefore need to be brought back in force and built upon! Retro: The fight against Madness. Now that is a debate issue to be debated!
