The High Price of Free Sex

From Yahoo News:

More than 1 million cases of chlamydia were reported in the United States last year — the most ever reported for a sexually transmitted disease, federal health officials said Tuesday.

“A new U.S. record,” said Dr. John M. Douglas Jr. of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

More bad news: Gonorrhea rates are jumping again after hitting a record low, and an increasing number of cases are caused by a “superbug” version resistant to common antibiotics, federal officials said Tuesday.

Syphilis is rising, too. The rate of congenital syphilis — which can deform or kill babies — rose for the first time in 15 years.

Maybe God had a good practical reason to reserve sex for between one man and one woman for life?

  1. Even if you never get and std, remember there are other concequenses. Such as emotional bonds, and relational problems down the line. Just remember Go’d way is the only good way.

  2. Lax societal expectations, low individual morals, hormone-charged youth, promiscuity, drug use, poor medical compliance (e.g., failing to use medications as directed), and the emergence of resistant strains all conspire to produce a “perfect storm” of disease that may lead to mass epidemics in the future. Some of the plagues and pestilence prophesied for the end times may be of this nature.

This is another area that I think many Christian parents neglect in intructing their children. The public schools only make matters worse.
