California Beats Arkansas for Largest Family in America--Sacramento Couple Gives Birth to 17th Child

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Dec. 14 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The largest family in America will pose for the cameras in Sacramento this Thursday to show the world how big and beautiful family can be. The Thursday, Dec. 15 media availability will be at 2:00 p.m. at 9880 Jackson Rd. Sacramento, CA 95827 and will feature Vladimir and Zynaida Chernenko and their biological 17 children -- the youngest born last week.

Outdistancing the Duggar family in Arkansas which, in October, announced the birth of their 16th child, little David Chernenko (#17) came into the world on December 7, weighing a healthy 9.4 lbs. (4.3 kg) -- a special Christmas gift the entire family thanks God for.

David is the 9th boy in the Chernenko family and the sixth child in the family born in the United States. More than six years ago, the Chernenko family emigrated from Ukraine after enduring religious persecution. Now living in Sacramento, the Chernenkos attend Bethany Slavic Missionary Church, the largest Russian-speaking church in USA.

Vladimir and Zynaida Chernenko were married 24 years ago when both were 18 years old. One year later, their first child was born and the legacy of this amazing family began. Their 17 children are Sergey (22), Lilia (21), Andrey (19), Dmitry (18), Anatoly (17), Lyudmila (16), Anna (15), Vitaly (13), Oksana (12), Svetlana (10), Inna (9), Vyacheslav (8), Paul (6), Diana (5), Alina (4), Timothy (2), and David (1 week).

Thursday's news conference is organized by the Russian-American newspaper "THE SPEAKER" (Sacramento), with the sponsorship of City Lights Limousine.
